Assistant Community Manager ANZ

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and proactive assistant community manager. The successful candidate will help lead community projects across all of our franchises designed to support player retention and acquisition through creative use of social media platforms, trends, and Blizzard Entertainment’s communication platforms.

This individual should be a forward thinker capable of taking projects from start to finish and have strong communications skills both for internal and external situations (including international). Additionally, this assistant manager will be a part of a larger team, able to play the role both as a leader and team member according to needs. Also, this person is highly motivated, conscientious, and detail-oriented.

The ideal candidate is well versed in the latest social media, gaming, and marketing trends. He or she has a strong understanding in which ways these trends are headed and is able to use this knowledge to improve effectiveness of future and current community projects. Furthermore, this individual is able to quantify results and achievements of projects through tangible metrics measuring engagement, influence, and make appropriate adaptations to hit striving goals. Lastly, this individual should have a strong desire to work consistently in supporting and evolving the way Blizzard Entertainment’s community grows and expands.

• Manage community projects aimed at the acquisition and retention of players.
• Manage the progression of current community communications platforms.
• Manage application creation for social media platforms.
• Support regional eSport opportunities, including live tournaments.
• Constant evaluation of ongoing projects in order to achieve maximum return on investment.
• Stay abreast of state-of-the-art industry trends and innovative developments.
• Participate in and help coordinate events.
• Assist other members of the community team with community-related tasks.
• Handle other responsibilities, as assigned.

+ [Requirements] +

• Previous experience working in community management, online marketing, and / or consulting
• Strong understanding of both current social media trends and Blizzard Entertainment’s player community
• Able to creatively envision new ideas and approaches to take them to fruition
• Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with external parties and internal stakeholders
• A passion for Blizzard and interactive gaming in general.
• Willing to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays, and be available on call
• Strong time-management and organization skills
• Superior communications, presentation, and facilitation skills: must have the ability to structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, and effectively present this to any level in the organization
• Internally-motivated self-starter with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to manage multiple projects and achieve results, with little supervision
• Available for occasional travel
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Experience working with international offices
• Experience managing projects with third party organizations
• Graphic design skills in Adobe Photoshop, and / or Illustrator
