DoMo's Mystery Interview Series: Interview 1 Of 1.

Interview title - I swear I'm not doing it for the money.

Q: Hi! Thanks for taking the time to sit down for this interview, please, give us a brief introduction.

A: No problem, and thanks for this opportunity! So, my name is John Doe, but you may know me by my gamer tag "DragonSlayer98", I'm 16, and am an aspiring pro gamer from Australia.

Q: Being an aspiring pro gamer, what is that like?

A: I won't lie DoMo, it isn't all fame and glory. I play over 25 games a week and just don't seem to improve. I mostly find solace in the fact that I live in Australia and the latency is what is stopping me from winning WCS. But the most frustrating part is when I grind it out on ladder and get cheesed every second game preventing me from getting promoted.

Q: Promoted? Interesting, what league are you in currently?

A: Oh, I'm in diamond at the moment, I've never actually been in masters but the MMR tool I downloaded from TeamLiquid says I am at that level.

Q: So..you aren't technically masters?

A: Well, yes and no.

Q: Ok moving on, who do you look up to most in the SEA community? They could be players, casters, managers, anybody really.

A: Oh easy question. Definitely PiG. He inspires me so much. I was also really lucky to win coaching with him awhile ago so I was given the privilege of picking his genius brain.

Q: Wow! Coaching with PiG! You don't hear about that every day! Tell me, what was it like spending your parent's money on his advice?

A: Simply the best, and I recommend it to EVERYBODY. Especially if you are in BSG, sc2 is so hard at that level you are basically forced to shell out money to learn the basics from the pros.

Q: I'll make sure to write that down. Furthermore, you did mention the difficulty of Starcraft, what do you think is the hardest aspect of the game?

A: Hmmmmmm...this is a tough question because David Kim has made so many mistakes. Just everything in the game that has to do with the other two races is broken. As are the maps! It is simply impossible for my race to achieve any serious results (ignore what you see in GSL or Proleague, they only win because their opponent messed up). I'm being serious as well, I am in no way being bias or bandwagoning.

Q: I'm sorry but we are only looking for a single thing here, could you try consolidate?

A: Yes, yes of course, Sorry, my emotions just got the better of me. The single most difficult aspect of Starcraft is the MMR system. For some reason it really undervalues my skill (and consequently my relevance).

Q: More on difficulties, what is your opinion of the recent financial troubles in SEA tournaments? For example, with the future of SEAcraft being put in jeopardy?

A: I think it is a real shame, an avenue for talented SEA players like myself to get noticed outside of GPD could be lost. It will really hurt the scene.

But being brutally honest I think the worst part about it will be the emotional toll it'll take on the attention-hungry organizers, how will they justify their superiority complex in the scene now?

Q: You raise a good point as troubling as it may sound. Yet is there anything positive you can sea (LMAO! KAPPA! ROFL!) in the future of SEA?

A: LOLOLOLOLOL KAPPA KAPPA KAPPA! Oh you are so funny DoMo. But seriously, all I see are improvements (things couldn't get any worse? right?).

Q: HAHA KAPPA.

A: Oh bummer! I wanted to talk about myself more! I guess the people reading this will have plenty of opportunity to ask me questions later on since this interview basically means "I Made It In SEA" and I'm effectively "One Of The Boiz". Big shoutout to my clan, my family, and God for sticking by my side even when I lost faith in myself. I'm so blessed. Also, thank you DoMo for doing your part to keep the scene alive, it was a pleasure to be interviewed by you, one of my friends on the site, who decided to interview me over somebody actually interesting.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be a big fish in a small pond Fullmetal. You, being on DynSL, should know this.

He may not be very good at Starcraft. but at least DragonSlayer98 has the guts to come out and tell us all who he really is. AN ASPIRING PRO GAMER!

We should all take a page out of his book and be confident with our own insecurities.
