Hey guys, just started checking out the Brisbane SC2 community.

A bit about myself:

I'm in Brisbane, really close to CBD and work full time. Started BW in 2009, started playing SC2 in beta. Was tought to play by Koven from WA. I'm top 20 Daimond in my league, was D+ on iccup in BW.

Back to the point, just wondering how big the Brisbane SC2 community is, and where SC2 in Brisbane is at (popular meetup spots, what's the go with Brisbane tournies, etc). If your in Brisbane post up, in game I'm Slayar.

All I really know at the moment is Terror Australis, free to join AU clan - channel name op [ta] on battle.net.

Theres a Uni SC2 group at QUT I think, not sure if you need to go to uni or public can join but may as well see if you can. Pretty quiet really.

If you're on facebook add the University of Queensland Starcraft Society group page. We're all fairly active on it, and you don't have to be a uni student to join. I'm 4 hours away from Bris so I'm not too sure how much actually goes on there, hopefully it's starting to pick up as they only set up the society a month or two ago. Hope to see u on there

Well if you keep watching these forums you'll find events coming up. Events aren't fully organised yet but after a successful in-house lan that elimzkE and I done (challonge.com/foreverbronze) we're looking at creating a community event!

Perhaps when Kelly visits Brisbane?

I'm pretty keen to get a bit of competitive action going on around Brisbane, but I have no experience in it.

What are ways to get a prize pool up, small or big?

Sponsors, that is the big thing. Sponsors+venue+interest.

I'm thinking:
Venue: Bunker (or Elysium)
Some form of local sponsorship
A crap load of advertising.

$5-20 entry fee which all goes into the prize pool? Should have the tourney next month, you have any contact details?

Pretty sure Blizzard would only take royalties if it was a televised event. Tournies are held all the time without propping up Blizz.
