Gaming Glasses

Wondering if any of you actually use these gaming glasses...? do they actually work? is it worth buying? I pretty much stare at the screen both at work AND at home.....

Before actually spending any money, I'd recommend flux if you don't already have it. It slightly tints the screen so that it isn't as bad on your eyes. The amount it tints is based on the time of day, so its darker at night. My eyes have been feeling a lot less strained since I've started using it.

Yes I recommend me too, very handsome so will distract you from staring at screens; stare at me instead

I have used them, they arent that bad BUT tbh Satu's option is much better. Also I found that my issue wasnt just that my eyes were straining but that I actually needed glasses and they have helped so much more.

If you stare at the screen, look at getting your eyes tested to make sure that there is nothing wrong, then see if gaming glasses help you at all.

Yeah Flux is really good.. I started to get really bad eye strain lately until a friend recommended me the program. It's starting to help, but I've yet to get used to it.

Yeah, thats one thing to keep in mind. You WILL notice the tint at first, and it can be mildly annoying. After a month though, I only notice it when its changing due to the time of day.

It takes a little while to adjust to flux. But after that, ain't no going back.

DEFINITELY worth getting. I've been using it for (I think) over a year now. So good.

Yeah that's the effect of it when it changes the colours a bit and screen brightness once it hits night time so your eyes are less strained. It'd take a while to get used to.. I'm still not used to it lol.

Definitely recommend flux.

I had a pair of gunnars for a while but I don't believe they did much for me.

Second thing to do is get your eyes checked (its free at bulk billing places in Aus not sure about HK).

I now have a pair of prescription glasses for computer work and they make a hell of a difference.

Moral of the story, if you are planning on being front of the PC screen for long periods of time - look after your eyes.

with the flux program, you can adjust the brightness levels for day and night. default nighttime brightness is 3400, just increase that a bit and see if its a bit better?

As an alternative to flux I use warmer light bulbs in my room. Anything with a temperature rating of 5500K and above. These are more blue rather than yellow, and look a lot more like natural sunlight. For me flux was hella bad and made things much worse. I absolutely hate yellow light, which is what normal light bulbs, flux and gaming glasses give you.

Also, look at something in the distance every 20 minutes or after every game. Spend 60 seconds doing something with your eyes. The majority of eye strain comes from the fact that eyes are meant to constantly be refocusing on different distances, which they aren't when we sit in front of the computer. Get up, walk around the room and look out the window. The extra blood flow will do wonders for your entire body and brain as well, not to mention help flush out emotions after those intense games.

agreed, taking a rest after a period of time is incredibly helpful.
really helps to look at stuff at a distance every 20mins. Hard to do but realistically every hour should be okay.

Personally, I quite like Flux already. It was sort of strange at first since it felt very unnatural and annoyed my eyes, but after a while I sort of got used to it and it felt a lot less harsh on the eyes than the bright white light of the screen used to, at night. At day there's no real issue for me, but I use the computer at night / in the darkness a lot, and that was what strained my eyes; but Flux made that feel a lot less pressure from the screen
