Before anyone comments, yes I'm that guy who always types #foreverbronze into the chat channels, and I constantly spam Kelly about it too .
Anyway, I had an idea for a prize for the BSGO that could be worth more than a cash bonus and an interview.
How about, a one hour coaching session with a SEA Master? Heck, with the BSGO you could even have a Diamond level player offering advice to a B-S-G player, in terms of general game play and micro/macro.
The reason that I say this would be a great prize is simply because as a new-ish competitive starcraft player (I've been spamming Carriers in Fastest Possible Map since BW) I'm having some trouble pointing out flaws in my play, and I figure a 3rd party who is clearly more skilled would obviously be a great boost to the winner in perhaps getting them into the GPDO.
Anyway, sorry if it has been suggested, the way the forum is operated is a little confusing so I wasn't sure if anyone had thought of it (or would be willing to do it).
hahaha xD Glad you'll always remember me Cruxis. By the way, we should rematch again soon. And for the record, a 4gate timing attack can be deadly in any league :P. (inb4 nerf br0toss).
Is it a good idea? I'd donate my time if I was at that level. Or maybe it could be a rewarded once a month, and past winners could re-enter that tournament (provided they were still BSG) and attempt to win it?
An hour a month couldn't be too hard to scratch up, could it?
I have made 1 hour coaching with one of our top tier SEA player once as a prize. However, that doesn't come in easy as they don't have much time to spare. I wouldn't mind giving 1 hour coaching as prize for BSG as long as there is someone who is willing to spare an hour a week to coach the winner.

It'd be great if we could get a better system for this, maybe we should look for diamond players or above who are willing to coach lower level players, one for each race?
Most of the BSG level errors can be easy to pick out if you're at a higher level of skill, so we might not necessarily need master level players, diamond could work too.
absoloutely, time to get myself out of bronze league and into masters. Like I could offer as a NA platinum, but they'd look at my SEA record and laugh because I'm still bronze. :P
Grab a pool of diamond/masters players who are willing to coach the weaker players. Should be fine and not a very big commitment since people can rotate around should they not be free.
With all the free coaching threads yea this might actually take off, probably need a sign up thread for coaches idk, ill let zergtastic handle it, he and baka have been doing a great job with the BSGs and its getting better everyweek

I was considering making a coaching sign up thread last night. I'll make it now, its a better idea than hunting for master league coaches.

Yeah Baka and Zergtastic have been doing fantastic things with the BSG, actually if it wasn't for them offering something like this in the sea region I probably wouldn't have started playing again. So if you guys need any help, just let me know! I'll be down for whatever.

Baka did mention to me the other night that Nirvana asked if we needed another admin for the BSGs.
I then proceeded to tell Baka I didnt know Nirvana was a comedian.
Tbh, there are things we could do better, just communication-wise. If we have more admins, it could be a bit harder. Just sorting out stuff like getting the replay packs and interviews consistently uploaded and shown on the site (Yes, they have been a bit discontinued due to communication problems recently).
The good news is that Im going to attempt to make it into video interviews from now on, and that could be more interesting than reading text.
lol zergtastic you misunderstand my good intenions!
i just asked if you needed a extra hand in case one day one of you cant make it like if ure bz that weekend, so it gives u more flexibility to know theres a third reliable guy who could stand in for that week. yea and that and we got a ton of applicants.
of course its gonna be a max of 2 admins at a time, anymore is unecessary
