The other really big news that emerged from MLG is that after Curse defeated Dignitas in the League of Legends finals, both teams had their ranking/prizes stripped from them, and awarded to 3rd & 4th places.
This was because both teams went All-Random & All-Mid for the Grand Final and agreed to split the prize pool between them regardless of the outcome. In SC2 terms, this would be like if Leenock and First pulled their 6 workers and battled in the middle of the map to determine the winner.
Stuff like this can be a slap in the face to the industry. People need to conduct themselves properly!
I'm trying to remember the analogy that someone brought up, something along the lines of once NBA teams have confirmed their playoff spot its not uncommon for their stars to sit out the next few games for rest and only play B teamers whcih is accepted practice.
This is similar to playing an ARAM game in game 1 and game 1 only, the other games of the series were played out properly and were good games to watch.
The ARAM game itself had nothing to do with it, it was the collusion that forced the DQ
From what I understand atm, the "collusion" happened on day 2 to play ARAM in finals if they made it, (which is within the rules) but the sharing prize money/matchfixing which they were DQ'd for and curse has refuted that.
I can get over the fun ARAM game in set 1 since they played the rest of the series properly which alot of people had fun watching, but even IF they decided to split the prize money you dont tell anyone, thats just stupid.
The rankings for S2 final had no bearing for curse and their placement in this tournament, and doing all this for what? 1.3k per person, seems far too little for them to realistically risk all of this.
We'll see how it ends up
TLDR: can get over playing 1 aram game but the rest is not acceptable in any circumstance
