@Bloodmyst - Its been confirmed in the thread already, but so there is official confirmation from myself, yes BattleToast was platinum when he was signed up by us as well as in the roster. If he had played last week, he would of been platinum (but he was unavailable that night). You are 100% correct that a team Cannot add a diamond player, even if he was platinum a few weeks ago.
@Rezyn8 - My example there was more to show how much of a struggle it could be to get BSG level players if we started using current league. In the specific case you mentioned, I would love it if teams threw out lower league players earlier, but I understand there are a lot of factors at play
@Lemminks - AS noted above, I understand as a captain, how hard it is to find out who can play, so again its why the rules are the way they are and I know you would of done your best to play a lower league player.
a) How many Bronze and Silver players the team actually has
b) What time their players can actually play (I know i have players who cant play right at the start, and others who have to play earl y)
c) promotions from bronze and silver upwards (those reliable bronze/silvers becoming golds)
There are a huge amount of factors to consider and the last thing I want to see is walkovers or games not happening. If we were not doing all kills, it makes thing a bit nicer as you start a little bit later and all time zones should make it better, as you have a fixed time.
In the end of the day, I had to make a call, and choose what I thought was the best call, adding the two platinum restriction and specifying that a platinum could not start. I then decided to ignore in season promotions so that teams werent left with a side which couldnt play. I dont want to make special case rules or calls on players, because
a) My team is playing in the tournament, my view would not be seen as impartial
b) Its really hard to stay consistent and rule when a player becomes too good
c) This tournament has no prize and is just 5 weeks long...
There are a number of lessons to be learnt and I will be taking your feedback and suggestions on board. I took what we did in Tier 5 as a base and tried a few things to see how they worked. And again if we are too strict on what we allow, every team would have to give a walkover at some point.
I guess at the end of day, why are we having the competition. In my eyes, it soley to give players at our level something to enjoy. Something more then just ladder or BSGs. Its giving them an enviornment where they can represent their clan.
To everyone else, I ask that you try and be civil with one another.
If you wish to dicuss any of this further however I am more then open to it. My sole agenda here is to provide some awesome BSG and PD level clan tournaments. So lets work together and make improvements
To those who have PM'd me I will get back to your with longer responses once I am back in Canberra (Tuesday)
Ok I am back now in Canberra and my PC. I will get to most of the questions and details by the end of day tomorrow, but the most pressing matter obviously is the IXL vs ToR situation.
I will be talking with both teams in private to sort out a time to complete the match before this thursday, the sooner the better.
BM will not be tolerated and the rules are pretty strict on this. When you play for your clan, you represent your clan in every way. You fellow clan mates and especially your leaders, work their butts off to make clans as great as we are lucky to have in SEA. Respect their work and the clan by not tarnishing their image. We are all here to have some fun, lets do that
QED this is what I have as the results for our game last week. Can someone from QED confirm?
FSCL Week 3: FS v QED
Game 1: FSQuackpork 0 v 1 QEDgoste on Frigid Pass
Game 2: FSEagle 1 v 1 QEDgoste on Daybreak
Game 3: FSEagle 1 v 2 QEDBloodmyst ( ) on Entombed Valley
Game 4: ( ) FSBattleToast 2 v 2 QEDBloodmyst ( ) on Cloud Kingdom
Game 5: ( ) FSBattleToast 3 v 2 QEDMazaire on Daybreak
Game 6: ( ) FSBattleToast 4 v 2 QEDFridge ( ) on Antiga Shipyard
Game 7: ( ) FSBattleToast 4 v 3 QEDBourkes ( ) on Cloud Kingdom
Game 8: FSJhedjuka 5 v 3 QEDBourkes ( ) on Daybreak
a) The team captain did not show and a replacement captain was not given to either ToR or myself until just before the walkover time
b) The team captain was alleged to be BM to members of ToR on multiple occasions
c) IXL player LateBloomer was sent out as instead of his approved league race of . LateBloomer managed to higher then finish as in the past so this could be seen as an attempt to play a higher league player.
After talking to both captains and reviewing evidence the following decisions have been made:
The match between ToR and IXL will be abandoned and treated like it did not occur
IXL have been given an official warning for the incident, the next will result in forfeit
IXLDrown is not permitted to play or lead IXL for the remainder of the tournament
This decision was made due to several factors:
There was no attempt by IXLDrown to apologise for his actions towards the ToR captain or their players
There was no apology given on behalf of IXL to Suipr and the ToR team
BM is not acceptable and is definitely intolerable from a captain (even if they are a stand in)
As a note all players must play as the races their ladder ranks indicate or they were signed up as. If you wish to play as a different race you must get that approved by myself.
This means that the bracket is how Group A will finish:
Regarding this incident I just want to officially apologise on behalf of myself as clan leader as well on behalf of the clan Ninth Legion for the events that have taken place. I owe FSBenAD a big apology for wasting his time and this event ever taking place, as well as Suipr (AsylumofSouls), ToRVenom and any others involved for anything that was said to them. It was unacceptable in any manner for an acting staff member of the legion to act as Drown did, and any acting likewise in future will be dealt with severely. It's unfortunate that the very identity our clan has worked so hard to build up to avoid is what we're being seen as with a single incident, and myself as well as the other members feel very strongly about good sportsmanship in play and nothing but the utmost respect for our competitors. I hope we can move past this and prove in future that we in fact pride ourselves on a warm, friendly team atmosphere and friendly manner, such as any true sportsman should be.
Thanks again to Suipr of ToR for being so good about the whole thing.
