Mine is more a question than an improvement.
In the 'Tournaments' section there are sections for major tournaments/other tournaments and then there is 'State of Origin #1', I think highlighting the weekly tournaments like BSG, GPD, Masters Cup etc would be good as this would help newcomers get involved in these tournaments.

Not sure how possible this is, but could there be a feature where you can upload and view photo's similar to how facebook works?

On the stream page, could you remove the bar that says chatboxes and lets me remove both chatboxes at once. I can just as easily minimise both chats individually. I don't know if anyone else suffers this, but with the bar there I can just barely not be able to type in the stream chatbox unless I cover over the supply and resource counts of the player I'm watching.

i like the new layout tbh as it shows there is a lot of other content which is usually once it has been inactive for a few days and also i think it gives a more professional style from the more cartoonish style in which going sc2sea usually potrays

Hey, I don't if its just me and my old age but the font size is rather small now. Not the end of the world, but if it can be a bit bigger without making it look messy again that would be super.

I find myself leaning foward to read font size that is this big. Also, the bold text that indicates new posts are not as easy to spot as before.

You can hold control and scroll once or zoom in a bit in your browser and everything is pretty much the same size as before.

The text is still pretty small though :P

I think you should bold titles like "Blog Posts", "General Threads" etc. in the side bar. I'm personally fine with the smaller size in general for the threads, but the titles being the same size/weight as the threads makes it seem like things run in together a bit much...

Would there be any way to make the SC2SEA chat window a pop out window of its own like stream chats? Not a huge deal if its hard, I can always just open a second window and resize it just a bit of a pain.

There's already the 'full size' option... just combining that with opening in a new window if you want to should do what you want with a minimum of fuss without resizing or anything.

There was a discussion in the chatbox with regards to this newsletter, and this was the gist of my general thoughts:

Currently, at the most optimal resolution, you can't see the premier site content without having to scroll down the home page.

I recommend a few small changes to utilise your available real estate better.

Feel free to delete this post and move to the site suggestions instead, if more appropriate.

I already addressed that in my post - move them to below the news. Or re-design the ads so they do fit. Or re-design them and put them on the sidebars, like the pinnacle sports ad.

1. make your sc2sea header smaller, make it left aligned, or completely redesign it so it doesn't take up so much space.

2. Do it like TL. Make the headers aligned, push the ads INTO the chatbox. Then in the news section, "Submit your news" and "Mark as Read" buttons should be moved/made smaller, there's a huge chunk of white space there, that should allow the news section to move up.

I mentioned this in another post, so I'll add it as a suggestion here too.

If at all possible, would be cool to get a reddit widget going - something with links to reddit threads related to SEA. That way, I don't need to go anywhere but sc2sea.com for my sc2 fix, but I can make sure I'm doing my bit by upvoting/commenting on reddit threads relating to our scene

I figure the easiest way would be in the same vein as the replay database - let people submit their own links. I don't know if there's some reddit API that would let you just list posts including with key words (and even then, it may miss some). Of course, the guys who build these things know far more than I.

TBH I think it's better for article/thread authors to create a reddit thread, and then link it in their OP. Here's an example below:

The point was more to get the sc2sea community involved in upvoting reddit posts that are already out there (thus making us less insular and greater chance of being recognised outside of the region), rather than to just have people advertising their own threads.

Hmm, but that would inherently detract from SC2SEA's viewership, and having people posting on Reddit just for the sake of posting doesn't necessarily bring us positive exposure. I think people just need to go to the effort of cross-promoting (guilty as charged), then linking everything together. So for example, I plan on publishing tomorrow's WCS article on multiple sites, and they'll all be connected. So if people choose to, they can read the post here, then click on the link to the reddit version and choose to upvote/participate in the discussion there. I guess I'm coming exclusively from an exposure/professionalism angle though...

Personally I'd be a little wary of trying to put to much into sc2sea (i.e reddit etc). It's a fine line between utility and clutter. sc2sea is a great site focused around the sea community, if I want to go on reddit I'll go to reddit. If I want to go to TL I'll go there, there is no need to try and feed everything back through here.

Also love the improvements over all, Dox's suggestion looks fantastic. Only slight thing I'm not sure about is the need for having prefix's in posts. Really you're never going to have enough labels to cover every eventuality (I know it's not meant to) so you're always going to have people making custom prefix's if they want them anyway. Don't think it matters that much. (i.e. Having [pics] in front of "[PICS] Dot's SC2 photos" doesn't add anything and just clutters things up more).

Would it be possible to have a 'share' button on each thread to help easier promotion (via social media) of interesting or important threads. It could contain the link to the thread and a #SC2SEA for twitter or something along those lines.
