If you have a tourny like this again a suggestion for next time?
IMO not much uncertainty is created by a 'pro-am', we all know the amateurs don't have a chance in hell of competing against the pro's, so little excitement is created through having them play against the top guys. The community building amounts to someone getting stomped by a pro and that's that.
In the future I'd love it if a pro was paired with an amateur player. Then each play through their own brackets and the highest combined placing takes it out. This creates a situation where everyone is cheering for different amateurs and hell, if a pro is smart they might also take the time before the tourney to try and help coach up their partner a bit in their own time.
IMO a bit more fun than seeing a heap of guys slaughtered, and a lot more friendly / community building atmosphere from it.
