This thread will be for all the No Content / Low content D3 stuff where people can talk about basically anything D3 related.
(I.e silly stuff that don't deserve a thread of its own but still worth posting about)
First step towards making life easy in inferno....set graphics to low! If your playing with 300-400 lag, this makes things a bit easier, especially stutter stepping, The graphics arent that different........it looks just like wow lol.
Did a farming route today, opted for a different approach this time. Instead of a "boss run" we opened the last asmo quest then proceeded to start from Keeps > ice cave > bunker > foundary > towers which all basically all the sweet elite spots in act 3, went to all the 5 resplendent chests and finally killed asmo at the end. logic being elites drop just as much as bosses and take much less time to kill. we had leets constantly drop 3 rares.
Took about 3 hours and we must have went through over 50 leet packs in turbo mode cause im abusing a glitch pretty hard now which makes leet packs free frags I did not get anything good but it just came down to shitty RNG. had a ton of L61-63 items drop, many yellow, many blues just not good rolls. oh well.
Edit: Forgot to add, now that drop rates have greatly improved, don't put all your eggs in 1 basket!! ilvl 62 craftables, no matter what, will never beat ilvl 63 because of item budget allocation.
I need to raise money for maaaaajorly better gear, I've gotten to the Skeleton King in Inferno, but past that the mobs kill me too much and I'll end up losing money on the damn repairs I'm only doing like 12k dps, lol. So I'm assuming I'm not gonna find any ilvl 63 items in act 1?

12k dps is way too few for Inferno. To save you time just rendez-vous with one of our friends and they will give you stuff that they would not even sell in AH so you are 26k dps, 25-30 kHP, 250+ resist, 3000-4000 armor. I would do it myself but I can't give you server gear unfortunately.
I tried crafting ~10 4-properties Palliums (shoulder) because I looted the recipe. I was unlucky because I had quite strong Dex and Strength + vit (or resist All) stuff but nothing interesting in Intelligence. :-(
Selling it is not so interesting because I still farm and so I have already enough middle-class gear to sell.
Did they solve the issue that Act 1 and 2 is more rewarding? Probably not. You can run Act II in 1/3rd of hte time of Act III/IV and with alot less stress. The drop rate for ilvl 63 is is less than half. Time vs Rate = Act 2 is the farm spot forever and ever...who needs act 3 and 4 right? Why would it make sense to do harder content for less reward? I mean they pigeon holed us in to 2 hours of NV valor farming (even though they said they didnt want you to).
The QQ will continue. Theres an elitist oldschool D2 base that will never let go of their ways, theres a casual base that wants everything now, and then theres people who are in between. Blizzard wont make everyone happy, but they try to and its just going to pull the game in more directions. Meanwhile on the sidelines botters are laughing cause they already control the market and every move blizz makes helps them out.
EDIT: Oh when is this buff expected?
EDIT: nvm was hotfixed :P
Thank god for the buff, I wasn't even breaking even farming act 3 since the patch (Although my Barb and Wiz friends were breaking even barely, damn DH getting 1 shot :P ), hoping for rare 63's with good rolls to make money is hard when you're only getting 2-3 a run.

Hmm.. I am at 16808 dps with 300k gold, so I reckon I'm in a similar boat to asrathiel. Grinding doesn't seem to give enough gold in relation to repairs to really buy anything much better than what I have now. I am in act 2 and only got so far and now getting owned. I lost a ton of money throwing myself at the Butcher, which didnt really help. Decent weapons seem to cost around the million mark, so unless I find something really decent soon to sell on the AH I guess hoping for a good weapon in act 1 is the way to go. What dps weapon do I need to hit 26k? My resistances are between 288-300+ so at least that is doing ok.
To any moderator, feel free to move our digressions to another thread if you feel like so. I should add that those figures I gave where good for a Wizard that can benefit from Force Armor and then can have limited HP. For a barb / monk More HP / resistance would certainly be needed in exchange for dps. But even as barb, you need dps because the best defense is often the attack. For example that's why Demon Hunters have so huge dps, because they can't afford to be hit and the longer the mobs live, the more you're going to be hit no matter what.

I have a 2-3 million weapon that I bought for maybe 500k. So check gear before playing and after systematically and especially items that are freshly sold (1d11h or 1d12h left). You often can have very affordable items than can be bought right away. In fact, never buy gear the usual price.
BUT you don't need AH in reality. Act 1 drop, every run or 2, 800k+ 2 handed weapons. Take those until you can farm easily the classic runs warden + butcher + Nephalem wood.
To farm and gain money you need not to die more than once every half an hour in average (1 a hour is good). So you need to choose the adequate zone to farm accordingly. If it's hell act 3 or 4 so be it. Act 4 of hell gives you a lot of gold, especially if you put Gold Find gear.
Then when you're at the level I told you to be, just farm the end of Act 1 which is purposely incredibly easy compared to other part of Act 1 (spiders ... ) or Act 2+. With the new nearly 50% drop rate of 60+ objects, you're soon going to be very well geared and will be able to make some good sells (100k to 500k).

What is the class ? 38k might be needed for a tank. For the moment, be sure to aim at maxing Main char + Vit + Resist * 2 for each of your item, with at least half of your gear to have 80+ of your main characteristic.
If you found the occasional item that gives you more because of Attack speed, Critical, pure basic damage, etc., wear it.
When you're at that point you will be able to build (slowly) more Crit oriented build instead of pure main characteristic.

More or less the same. 39k dps and 26k life I think. Rarely one hit in Act 1 (Butcher charge, elite explosions do ...).

I played briefly with a mate last night and he bought me a 1k damage wep on A?H for 40k. This shifted my dps from 11k to 16k. So they are out there if you look, he took all of 1 minute to find it. Just narrow your search. I will find some better gear, just hate looking for so long.

The woman tanks and the man shoots from behind. Humm, interesting ...
Bad luck, you both need dex. Maybe he is the problem not dealing enough dps. That's his job. DH absolutely need Crit damage (and chance).
12k dps is still a bit low. 20k seems more what you need to have. Farm hell till you have enough surivability in Inferno. You might farm 50k each hour each of you I think and some good objects to equip or sell.
what do you mean by botters already control the market, some interesting stuff there! elaborate plz
Basically botters have tight control of the gold AH. So much so that blizzard have had to nerf a ton spots. The thing is, botters are not just you and I who write a program, its the serious botters that are the issue. People who buy 100+ accounts and leave em on overnight. Blizzard have been unable to catch these people and ban em, so instead they nerf all the botter farm spots. Furthermore, botting is supremely easy, I learnt how to use autohotkey and wrote a script to run royal crypts in 1day as well as a script to run Dank Celler in 1 day. Here are a few examples of farm spots that got nerfed.
1. Royal Crypts - I was netting 600k an hour (i only had it running one night cause it was the thrill of writing a script more than botting that I was interested in). People with good gold find gear and more efficient bots were netting 800k+. Blizzard nerfed the gold drop rate, and increase repair costs.
2. Dank Celler - This place was a 400-500k an hour run, so they nerfed the spawn rate of dank celler, if I leave my bot running with my GF gear I still make 200k an hour from it.
3. Act IV vase farming (gardens tier 1 i believe) - High drop rate for legendaries/rare/gold just by breaking the vases. I never wrote a bot for this place but you would just go in go up break vases, go south, break vases, leave game having your character pick up loot (really not hard to write).
Imagine these farm spots, done on 100 computers...thats alot of gold right? This is only half the problem, and blizzard failed to address it in time as gold farmers have already made TONS upon TONS of gold doing this. When they nerfed everything, it made it harder for casual players to make gold from the game, as players were doing things like this legitimately without botting in order to get gold to buy items on the AH, which is the next step in botting controlled market.
The gold AH is full of botters too! Its even more simple to write a script for the gold AH, but requires some market savvy. Basically (i didnt do this but seen videos), the script would just set your stats required, put a low buyout and buy what was there if the buyout low enough. I've seen bidding bots too. The main point is there are bots that out bid and buyout human players on good deals. Botters grab these items and resell at ridiculous profits. Furthermore, the influx of gold gotten by the botters from there 100+ accounts allow them to buy out entire markets and resell at a higher price.
Blizzard never have addressed this issue. The botters are making less than before, but still no risk gold gain is still worth it. Im sure there are other farm spots that botters have that are not shared and make tons of gold.
TLDR: Botters abused poor blizz mechanics, got a crushing advantage over the entire playerbase in gold and item control. Blizzard nerfs didnt fix problem, at best they stagnated it.
So i found out the hard way that crafting 6 prop shoulders and 1 hand swords is not the way to go. Goodbye 20M in recipes and about the same in crafting costs. Not a single sell able item lol STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!! Also, all i do now is craft got really bored of the actual game.
OK some of that stuff looks potentially rather useful for me... I'm on my laptop and not at home just now so can't log in and compare. Let me get back to you.
I kinda luckboxed two double rolls with the AR for perfect barb stats which let me sell this and make up for my helm crafting adventure which IMO has extremely high variance even for very deep bankrolls it is NOT worth it you salvage 90% of what you make. Phew! Now to never craft helms again!
Gold is available on the AH now at 25-32cents/100k (at time of posting).
This is probably the reason why non-AH gold sales are pushed back up to 15-18cents/100k.
I'm no economist, but i'm guessing this will be the "stabilized" prices?
Apparently there's a new gimmicky build for a Wizard, but I may be wrong, I don't really follow wizard threads.
God Mode Wizard?
Step 1: Select Teleport - Fracture. Bind it to a key
Step 2: Select Archon, tested with Improved Archon
Step 3: Hover your mouse over or near your charcter
Step 4: Press Teleport
Step 5: QUICKLY(!) Press Archon
Now...WHERE THE EFF ARE THE MONK GOD MODE WTFBBQ 1 SHOT BUILDS!?!?!?!
