I play zerg, and when i get enough forces to do a really damaging attack the opponent has really walled in there base well with siege tanks, turrents and bunkers. I'm not really sure what to do. Maybe my speed is an issue and I'm giving them the time to really play defensively but I'm not sure.
What do you guys think I should do?
Hey man, I'm only silver terran so take this with a grain of salt.
So terran is turtling? Sit back, Get fast third, macro hatch, expand everywhere, get fast hive tech, spread creep everywhere. Get your broods, ultras whatever you need to win and go and destroy. Thats what happened to me when i used to turtle...so I stopped. Replay would help.
If you are really going for some kind of aggression, then yes you probably should be hitting before they get much of a tank count...
Best thing though, is to post one or two replays of you trying this build against a terran that holds it. Then someone might be able to tell you if it's just your execution (macro) being bad so that you could theoretically do it a bit faster, or you're just not hitting the right kind of timing at all...
You could try Nydus if there's a gap anywhere in defenses.
Also, a huge pack of mutas often work great against a turtled terran.
Plus Broodlords don't get hit by either turrets or siege tanks.
And lastly, if you take lots of expos while the terran turtles, you can just throw units at him until he runs out of money.

just don't engage head on, retreat tech up and expand also use the speed of your lings to deny any expansions. Also by poking in with lings earlier in the game you can reduce the risk of over committing to massing an army and focus on your economy earlier.
Yeah infiltrating a well defended terran base is nasty. Your best bet is probably to just contain him, keep denying his third while taking a bunch of expansions yourself. When the time comes for broodlords, you should just autowin against 2 base terran.

Nydus can be fun, but I wouldn't suggest using it as your standard build. Lots of bases, lots of stuff is the way to break a terran.
Nydus might work but until its buffed in HotS I dont think the best option.
Just play standard and get broodlords and its gg. With infestors underneath. Contain his third. If he gets a third then take a fourth. Actually, regardless of whether he takes a third, take a fourth for the gas
Also, use this rule of thumb from now on: If you are floating 1500 minerals - go make an expansion hatch. I would imagine you will just continue pooling after 1500, so you may as well pool gas as well

Expanding is hugely important. A turtling player isn't going to send his forces out very often to keep you at bay. Now as long as you are AWARE of what he is doing (keep a unit or two outside his base, see whether or not he is moving out) it's safe to expand like a mad man. Might spread ur defenses weak but who cares, his just sitting in his base anyway. And then when time comes to strike, u can just explode out with units.
1) My opponent isn't bottled up yet so let's get a bunch of shit and cram it in there.
2) My opponent has moved out and has left several bits of his base vulnerable to attack so let's get a bunch of shit and cram it in there.
3) My opponent has lost a shitload of units out on the map, has been for a while so let's just get him.
4) I have Broodlords. And infestors. And some corrupters and queens too.
The first is part of a planned strategy, like you see your opponent go 1 rax fe so you figure you'll get some roaches or speedlings out quick to attack him. The second is the reward for good scouting and map awareness, as well as keeping all your units in the right place to exploit your opponents decisions. The third is something you'll develop as you play a ton of games. The 4th is what your basically aiming for all game, the strongest unit you can make (and a very strong one at that!)
If you're not doing these things your making bases, drones, creep, upgrades and tech, overlords, and scouting a lot so you don't get caught off guard by something gay. And making units on occasion too.
If your terran buddy decides to turtle up like an a*** hole, you simply just let him. While he is hiding behind his wall masturbating, you take more bases, spread your creep, work on your upgrades and basically move into the late game with a sick advantage!
