I am at the point where the only way up is through better gear. This is getting rather hard to work out to say the least. I am running with a DH and am finding it hard to compare gear based on all the stats..
This is an example i guess of trading off primary attributes vs all resist & armor. Can someone who has gone through all the pain point out what you would tend to do in order to progress through enferno. Is it as easy as looking at the EHP and what ever is the highest, just go with that?
The DH i run with in Inferno (all cleared) has 10k hp...
Everything else is DPS, reflect mobs is a pain, but he has lifesteal bow and life on hit with it, so he can live for a while, he just dps's whilst he's invulnerable.
you have to decide what playstyle you want to to use, and what party you are going to play with, and then base it off that. there is no "better" choice in every case, you have to build a set that does what you require.

Looks like it but its just that it doesnt line up.
you're not suppose to ADD all the resist up, take the highest value across the board or average it all if it isn't the same (probably not as accurate) but i'm sure it's as close as it can get
Thanks for the heads up.... dps it is then. Would love to hear from anyone that has tried to go with a build not based on dps.
Anyone been sucessful with it?
That's the thing, I've never heard of any DH who has progressed much in Inferno who does not go DPS-crazy
My current play style/gear allows me to burst down most normal Act 3 mobs before they can reach me with minimal kiting; when i see a ranged enemy I immed pop smokescreen and try to burst it down before SS ends, and try to maintain max distance.
Would be nice if someone can tell me what item should i have at lv60 infernal which would let me farm through comfortably.
Especially i am a noob at that and i do not know what stats are important other than the primary attribute.
Thanks in advance.
@op - Depends on your playstyle whether to go for an all resists or pure dps build. I, for example, went pure dps (got 12k health atm) and have cleared all of inferno with that. I actually don't know any DH personally that have focused entirely on resists.
12k health... i thought you would need like 50k+ at least. I guess you make a choice... get one shot or get 2 shot by the elites / rares. Im not a big fan of the idea of the glass cannon but may need to adopt the strat soon if I cant progress.
How do you deal with the bosses with such low HP... belial must have been a nightmare!
Exactly, you reach a point where you either get one shot by everything or two-shot if you stack resists and sacrfice DPS.
Do you have high +crit damage or something? Seems to scale up quite nicely with SS. I'm surprised you have that much DPS with that much HP.
Belial is really all about adds management, once you can do that well you got it down. I should try soloing it to see if my current gear can do it heh. (I cleared it with a Monk last time)

I agree with the others here on life, I have around 10k with my wiz (lvl 46) and I'm still in Act 2 Nightmare. I am enyoing the challenge, but I still keep looking for more vitality.

Yeah, I have +81% critcal damage on my items and the +50% critical damage bonus from my crossbow brings it to a grand total of +131%.
I am however going to be looking for a replacement bow shortly as I prefer a fast cast rate over the higher damage per hit. I like the hate gen with the faster cast rate as I think it will be of benift in the late game. My crossbow is only 808dps atm but gives me an extra 15k life through its +239 vit bonus. I want at least a 1000dps bow to make up for it though.
