Ive tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and treied and tried and tried to post simple questions of the TL forum, nearly everyone gets closed, modded, needs something with it. Are they running at approved posters bot, if ur name aint on the list we are going to be ridiculous and stop any kind of advice being given to you. Its really simple stuff. when i do post my responses are use the search. ok my questions into TL search were
early zerling build
early pool build
fast zergling build
fast zergling build
economic fast pool
you know what . . nothing there answers my question or it is there but i havent really got all the time to read 70 posts, i may get yabot out and do my own 10,11,12,13,14,11over,12, over pools . . i think i could find out quicker
.......................anyway i digress!!! i do this a lot.
i want to focus more on scouting and reading the opponent so i can react quicker and more efficiently. Are there any guides i can look at (hopefully not the regulars that keep getting banded about the TL and these forums) or practice drills i can do to help me with this.
basically a lot of my lings come to either a canon or some kind of scout stop. I could go 10 pool or something but i dont want to damage my econ. any ideas io can use.
the 14gas pool seems to be the best as speedlings are qout quick. Any improvements?

U dont need to scout with lings or actually physically SEE what he is doing. Scouting the front to see what units or how mcuh of a unit he has will tell you a lot. Now also with this new patch ovies are super quick and you can just about always get them into good scouting positions so that u can run them into your opponents base and sacrifice them for scouting. Such good scouting positions usually include any place next to ur opponents main/natural that isnt over ground so nothing can shoot you.
Lastly, with zvt and zvt the most important things to scout are the gases. Not much gas be careful for an all-in or an expansion, a lot of gas becareful for some kind of tech cheese or very safe expo. thats a lil bit more in depth and i cbf going into it atm. Also, u can always just use a drone to scout usually around 13, to see if they have gas/early expod/ what they are doing in general.
The only time you should early pool is either some form of cheese or heavy early aggression as it sets u back to far economically really
One final word of advice. forget compositions and what strats are good against what strats for now. Focus on macroing, hitting ur injects, never getting supply blocked, and always trying to build a shit tonne of drones. This is what will get you promoted super quick. gl hf!
thanks for the reply but youve no idea how tired i am of hearing

im gold league, i rarely miss injects now unless im having to try and get the most out of similar army trades, my macro is pretty good, and i drone hard, too hard in most games but im quite happy to lose to over droning.
this is why i think my scouting needs to be better. i want to effectively hold pushes, trade an army but stay way ahead and lose a lot less than he did . . . then get more ahead. Im playing this style now while we are in lock to really focus on aspects of my game
another issue im having is the only produce units when hes pushing out line which keeps being banded about. Ive not taken this literally, cos EVERY time i do this i haven't got nearly the enough units to deal with the push. whats the trick with this?

Why would you be happy to lose because of overdroning when you're trying to effectively hold pushes? Scouting will do **** all if you have too many drones and not enough units.

That's impossible. If you were doing these things then you wouldn't be in Gold league. If you're sub-masters your mechanics suck. If you're masters then your mechanics are still awful, just a bit less (unless you are called Goody or Elfi of course...)
Edit: I think I should add - what might help you is realising how much you really, really suck at this game. I was telling myself this today hahah. There are SO many things you can improve to become better, but those things that kez listed are key, and getting better at only those few things WILL get you promoted quickly. There is no way you are 'good' with any of them at all yet.

Hi Statix. You may be tired of hearing what kez has told you but everything he has said is true. If you believe you are dying from allins after overdroning then try setting yourself an overlord/overseer scout timing where from that timing you either decide to macro harder or pump out units to defend the allin.
If you think you are hitting all your injects then I think you should work on the other parts of your game like scout timings, upgrade timings and creep spread.

Reason: grammuuur
Just to add-on since your question was mainly about scouting-
- Drone scout @ 9-14 food
- Lings at Xelnaga(s) + outside of enemy base + 3rd
- Sacrifice overlord(s) around 7-10min
It doesn't really matter what BO you open with. You will get more or less most the info you need by doing the above in all match-ups.
Edit: And just to echo, it's still a mechanics issue. Not scouting.
Edit 2: Take a step back & think about it, there's a reason many people are telling you the same thing.
GLHF~
Most of us here are trying to help you Statix but from your replies it seems as though you don't want our help... Here's the one main advice for you Statix. Listen to the advice given to you =)
just copy pro level replays to see how to play macro games - if the other player doesn't expand when they normally would, make units
P.S. every person in gold league thinks their mechanics are da bomb - guarenteed every person in gold leagues mechanics suck incredibly badly
probably your threads on TL get closed because you make bad OPs - instead of asking general stuff and then demanding different answers, post a replay of a specific loss and try to analyze the game yourself
