So this new game (not really new, it was actually made in May 2013) has recently become the new craze for smartphone games. From Tiny Towers, to Farm Story or whatever story, to Candy Crush, this game is now probably one of the most played games in the world!

In the video above shamelessly ripped off YouTube, you'll be able to see all about how the game works. Basically, you're given a main character (aka the Bird) and you're tasked to navigate through the gaps between the pipes. Sounds easy, but it's not. You only have one command, and that's to make the bird fly up a few pixels, before getting pulled down by the game's gravity again.

Once you've downloaded the game as your respective app stores, go ahead and just learn the game by yourself. You'll start to know when to jump and when not to (yes, really when not to) and that's just the beauty of the game. Simple, yet hard to master. Kinda like StarCraft to some of us, eh?

Some tips that might help you break your high score:

1. Play without distractions

That would include banners, notifications, sound (both game and message ringtone), and even vibration for that matter. You need to keep your head in the game and not screw up your rhythm by any other thing in this world. The tapping sound caused by your finger / thumb would be enough to keep your rhythm.

2. Practice in this game is IMPORTANT

Once you have a good high score (58 currently at the time of posting this post), you'll tend to feel the "oh crap I'm gonna break it again" feel. And that feeling isn't gonna help you break your record. It serves as a distraction as well, and might lead you to tapping too early and you know what comes next. The more you get the feeling, the less nervous you're gonna feel the next time.

Below will be a table to showcase our high scores. Screenshots will not be required because it can be faked anyway. I'll just leave it to the integrity of us lovely people of SC2SEA. Follow the format given to you below:

Web version shouldn't be counted because the distance between the top pipe and bottom pipe varies. Sometimes it's super huge, sometimes it's the normal size you'd get on the phone. At least for iPhone versions, the holes are all the same size and they're freaking small.

as i posted on twitter last night while i was having spider issues, my highest so far is 13 on iPod (not iPhone i know im technologically disabled huehuehue)

Edit: just thought of making fun of Crayon, I got 3 on my very first attempt ever, how mad? hue

Sorry just updated. I should add country flags too LOL according to what Schnitzel said

Anyway I finally saw someone played Flappy Bird on Android on the train. I think it what makes it "easier" than iPhone may be the bigger screen size, and the bird kinda moves slower when jumping and falling. I don't know, maybe all these are just relative.

Is it just me or do you always get a high score at the most random and unlikeliest time... I got mine on my way back home from work, tired as heck. And then a train jerk decided to bump my phone against my thumb and rage mode turns on.

Anyway I iPhone versions got an update today. It's sort of a port from the Android version now. Confirmed easier by

and me. So, the section stating which OS you're using will removed for now, until people start sending me death threats to put it back.

P.S. If you're wondering why am I not typing i OS (no space), it's because when you combine them together it becomes iOS.

I'm still really curious what was the difference between iphone and android versions that made iphone harder? Was it to do with the bird physics, or gap sizes, or something else?

The biggest difference I noticed is that the frame rate is sooooooooooooo much smoother, and the hitbox for the bird/pipe feel better, sometimes when i died on previous version i wasnt that close to the pipe but havent had that kinda death in the new version

I second the hitbox thing! Now I can skip a jump more safely if I wanna plunge my bird down (don't know how to put it into better words)

The iPhone version was retarded because sometimes you die due to screwed up hitboxes.

EDIT: I think there's something to do with the bird physics too. I think the iPhone versions had the birds gaining speed downwards faster. But so far the tempo to keep the bird floating at the same level has been the same to me.
