wait...so tht mean i make my push with 1rax and 1 fac producing?? :O confused panda rite now XD
Oups I wrote too quickly, I meant before second Factory of course.
Medivac will allow you to drop and use stim at it's full power. 1 fact is enough to make enough tanks in the beginning, but you must produce permanently !

Hi here i am with another replay http://www.sc2replayed.com/replay-videos/15441
I have tried the infestors plus roaches combo, but its seems that that its not enough. As you have seen, almost gave up if not for my partner.Could someone please advise how i can improve my current gameplay.
Sice i'm hitting top plat i'm vsing diamonds on a regular basis and games are going against me around 40/60 And sometimes i feel like i have been completely outplayed and i don't know how. Please help.
lolwut vs Chazzex
League :
Map : Shakuras Plateau
Length : 22:25
Version 1.4.2
Replay Analysis
4:49 : If you steal gas, you don't want to finish it as a will need 2 marines to kills it if you keep stoping it and rebuilding it. And the don't want to make another marine since he is making reactored hellions.
6:30 : Bad Simcity. You need that queen to block the gaps. That tumor was very bad placed since it let a gap in your wall. You need some glings behind your spines if you put them there to block the hellions. if not put the 2 spines behind like in a map with no ramp to the nat.
6:52 : What a blunder, let that spine on top of your ramp, that's his job, not running in the wild !
7:08 : You loose 8 drones and more are going to die. You have lost the game already.
7:23 : The queen is killed by the hellions
7: 51 : 13 drones killed and a Queen for 5 hellions. You can't win the game against a player of your level after that.
10:12 : Simcity the low ground of your ramp, I guess that was your initial idea. Don't do that because:
Runby as you see are easier in the timing you do it
Tanks will easily destroy all that because they won't be protected by the high ground
Queen is away from the hatch so more walk to go inject
You don't really gain much creep by doing it
You're more vulnerable to drops
No queen at your main, so no inject and as you have no third, neither macro hatch, you don't have enough larvae by a looooong way. Make a queen always for your 3 first hatches, always, always, always ans hotkey them.
No speed for Banelings and neither for Roaches and your army is not going to fight on creep. Always fight on creep whenever you can.
13:02 : What do you think you can do with such a weak army vs a terran that hasn't lost nearly anithing at 13 minutes into the game. Use your units to defend, they will be more efficient and macro like hell to close up the macro gap between you and him.
15:02 : He push with 20 more army food, one more base, 20 more workers and 3 CC. At that point I don't get why that game has lasted 7 more minutes.
Nice muta play that make him fumble and he doesn't split his marines . But you're too far behind already it is only a matter of time.
21:23 : Now he makes it right and you loose.
Strong points
You're a nice opponent and have good sportmanship. I like it.
Nice muta-gling bling play
What could be improved
Better Simcity your base (see streams).
When behind take another base and gamble a bit by droning and defending.
Don't attack a walled natural if not really ahead in army.
4:49 : If you steal gas, you don't want to finish it as a will need 2 marines to kills it if you keep stoping it and rebuilding it. And the don't want to make another marine since he is making reactored hellions.
I think the only time the terran will make only a single marine is if you go gas first reactor hellion, which you can't even really afford to expand very fast behind. You always get at least 2 marines, and then either make a third or wait for 50 gas to tick over.
I think iaguz makes the third marine there, and I've fallen in love with doing it as with 3 marines you can push out and easily clean up 4 lings... on big maps you will often even deny drone scouting, so just seeing 3 marines pushing out and deny lings seeing the reactor/factory can throw zergs off.
kinda off-topic with regards to ZvT, but there should always be more than one marine out there.

Not off-topic at all ! Discussion about those analysis are most welcomed (at least it proves they are read ). Those are not meant to be the only truth but more guidelines and enlightenments on the game. Complementary comments are at least as useful as I do.
On the subject, I agree, refinery first reactored hellions means only one marine. Here there were only one marine indeed before the reactor but I don't remember if it was because of refinery first or messed BO by the . Even if there are more than one marine, if they are shooting at the building refinery they won't be chasing ovies or isolated glings. It also give you more insight of what he does. You also can cancel and then try to run to scout a little more.
Hi guys. I've got a replay from the Community Ladder where I rolled vs ChadMann's .
I'm in , so I would love some critiquing on my early game basics. I was greedy as this game and this is just about the first time I've ever built Spines. Would love any info on my macro, how greedy I was being and whether I can do it in a safe way.

I'll give you my insight into that match.. I was planning 3gate pressure expand.. but I scouted the early hatch and then decided to just 4gate.. because it would basically secure the win for me...
you should have controlled the watch towers with your early lings and scouted my base. from there you need to put down around 3-5 spines to stop a 4gate.. and with an early expo like that (even if not against a 4gate) you need to get roaches out (imo) to hold early pressure.
If I was you in that match - my first Overlord would have scouted the protoss base, with early lings poking to check what build the protoss was going for.. when I scout crono's used on Cyber and stalker second - I'd expect pressure (which is what I was doing) from there you can work out (based on scout timing) to get spines and/or go for fast roaches...
tbh - I'm not the best at v (as the zerg) but i would be working out what match builds protoss does that your having trouble with and work out what the right counter build is and when you need to scout.
so in a nut shell - you didn't scout in that game - and with out the Xel Naga Towers you didn't have time to react. Also, I noticed your Avg unspent was pretty high - maybe you were missing injects?...
When I play Zerg i sent queens to 4 and hatches to 5 with cycle bases (default hotkey is Backspace) set to caps lock (thats why sometimes I GG or gg..:P) then you can hit 4 to select all queens and caps lock tap between hatches while injecting.. makes the process quite quick and your larvae hits simultaneously (so its easier to keep track of)
As a Random player, what are you best match ups? what race are you best with? - I used to play a bit of random - but found my Terran was horrible and weak in early game as Zerg so I stuck to protoss and got alot better because I was focusing on improving 1 race and three match ups (PvZ, PvT & PvP) where as, a Random player needs to practice three races and nine match ups!!...
Anyway, GG wp'd...
Hopefully a good zerg can give you some feedback.. ?
Thanks ChadMann, you're right about the sticking to one race to actually learn it. We'll see what I do though.
Zerg feels like my best race, but I'm not sure whether it actually is or not. No idea about matchups though. My injects are generally alright, at least until the mid-game. Not sure how they went this game, but I think they fell apart once your pressure hit. Regardless, I've been messing with how greedy I can be in the last couple of matches I've rolled Zerg, and I've found if I take my gas late I just end up floating minerals. Gotta work out something to do with them.
The Overlord and Zerglings for scouting. >.< I (stupidly) didn't sent that first Overlord because I knew where you were. This lose will teach me to never do that. And I'll remember to use my Zerglings to scout.
Can a Zerg player please tell me a couple of things...
-How greedy can I be and survive?
-Did I need a bunch of Spines?
-Or would Roaches be better?
-Or both?
Fresh out of the BSGCL and I went to win 3 games (2 actual games and 1 walkover) before being sliced down by some powerful play in my opinion. We loss 3-4 tonight but by some miracle or something I'm sure we can give the rest of the clans a run for their money for the playoffs.
I have no clue what league he is in cause I forgot to check and couldn't find his name on the BSGCL roster.
Second, this was a game that I felt I was in my element. I got this checked out with some friends and this build was intentionally meant for any Immortal play. Somehow, it worked fine for Zealot Archon compositions too My opponent was a player so it felt good to win.
Third, my opponent was the opposing team captain tonight and sat through all the games I was in so I didn't go my now usual v build above. I was expecting the exact same thing but it turned out to be this 3-3 Zealot Storm thing that my fellow who played him later also would be pretty much be sliced down in the same manner. The opponent is Rank 1 in his division so losing to him didn't feel as bad as it usually does.
If you could point out what could've been done in my 3rd game that might have made a difference and maybe win the game that would be great. Other than that, enjoy the two replays and hope I'm improving!
Thanks and GLHF!

Panda I can't do it until next monday. I have my 40k tournament I organise this week-end so all my free time (and I don't have much in this period) is now dedicated to it. If nobody has done it by monday, I will monday (and the same with zergslut).

Go watch the vod on snod's stream I 100% agree with him that you lost at least partly because you're economy was bad. You were way oversaturated in your main, with little at your nat. You need to transfer more workers or rally both to the natural.
I think your unit comp was possibly too marauder heavy to fight chargelots (but i wasn't watching closely).
Ill watch the replay later, but i think you were also incredibly behind on upgrades. You can't really keep up with toss any more, but if you see them go double forge and don't go double e-bay, you better have something special planned.
Also, the final engagement... you pulled all your scvs to defend, but you did it long after you had bio left to buffer for. The scvs don't really deal damage, they just buffer to let your marines deal their sick dps without being mauled. Generally a good idea to hold position in front of zealots... they have to individually target fire each one down, then.
EDIT: I watched the replay. At 15:10 you had 26 (or something) drones on the main minerals (as a general rule, you want 16). and 3 + 1 mule at your natural... Given you were also substantially behind on workers because you didn't produce scvs behind your early pressure as well as you possibly could meant that you were vastly behind on income, which reflected in the supplies.
Then you decided to go for a push when you were down 20 supply and behind 1/0 to 1/2 on upgrades, and with one group of units chilling inside the medivac. That put the toss far enough ahead that he just took the gold and was able to make a tonne of zealots and kill you. You even scanned the army before you pushed into it, but I'm pretty sure you didn't click his units to check upgrades. If you see behind on upgrades, and that many zealots means he should have charge, you should not even think about engaging there.
You did go double e-bay after that, but you were insanely far behind, and he just rolled you.

Watched Snod's stream. I agree 100% as well to what he said. Need to transfer SCVs.
I have no idea what is the proper hard counter to such a Chargelot heavy army.
And yeah, I saw they were 3/3 I was like, well, SHIT!
Everything else you said was more than spot on.
Thanks Erasmus :3
Well, the first thing is to be even on upgrades/supply with a zealot heavy army. You also need to get an engage somewhere where you can stim and kite. You need to have a higher marine : marauder ratio to actually kill them (marauders do shit against zealots). And at least get your marauders in front of your marines cause they have way more hitpoints. The zealots kill them slowly while your marines tear them up from behind.
