Both MiTh and SPR were looking to score some important points in this round after picking up a loss last week. In one of the more notable matches, multi-game super star FaH who also represents his country in Dota/LoL did not disappoint in his first match of the season, taking down SunginSPR 2-1. The ace match brought an entire nation to its knees. The next day thousands of grieving Thais flocked to the RedArchon statue in Bangkok to leave flowers instead of the usual bras and panties for their fallen hero, who for the second week in a row lost the ace match. This time narrowly, to "Hi SEA i'm BalloonSPR here are 20 replays of me 1-2 basing". The end result was a draw, a decent result for both teams picking up their first points of the season! Thanapol Kuachart please come back fighting and BalloonSPR more marco replays are needed thanks!!!
The next match was between Herocraft and Mineski. tgun beat Azz giving Azz his first lost and tgun his first win of the season. The relatively unknown Risen who was once a top Malaysian Warcraft 3 player, continued his winning streak by beating Waning and "GOMTV house" shuffle once again fell this time to pinoy superstar and most handsome man in Asia, JaBito. The scores were tied and it was now the for the Ace of Oceania to go up against the Ace of South-East-Asia. EnDerr who regularly makes IdrA rage quit in ZvZ managed to secure the win 2-0, giving Mineski a very important win and their second consecutive win of the season!
The next match was another close series between EVE and Xeria Gaming. The founding members of xGking - jazbas and light both scored 2-1 victories and relative unknown from Westely beat Bielsko. New pickup Myuu picked up his first win of the season. Benji picking Pokerface as the Ace was quite unexpected (where was Mafia this week!) but it turned out to be a very smart decision, and pokerface proved his worth by taking out the "But I live in Bangkok and have terrible internet" Dutchman Strafe 2-1. xGking win 5-1 and pick up another 3 points this week and their second consecutive win.
Up next was iTA TA and brand new sc2sea google translating house clan ToT. After almost defeating herocraft last week, many people were expecting TA to win this match easily. However, TA decided to give some of their other players a runout this week, knowing that they could always rely on their aces Rossi and EdgE should things not go as planned. After some unexpectedly strong performances by the chinese players, TA found themselves down 0-3. They ended up using EdgE as their sub who brought a win back for the team 2-0 with everyone expecting ROSSY to take the ace match. But ForJJ who beat Yekke (High masters on KR) last week, surprised yet again with another crucial win, giving ToT the 5-1 win and continuing their undefeated run.
The final match was between and . aLt was now the only team without a single point as every other team had at least one point! Now when nirvAnA found out they were playing inFi this week, nirvAnA was like oh shit we are gonna be at the bottom of the table now with 0 points now, especially after inFi demolished SPR 6-0. However, there were two surprising results with nirvAnA beating Revenant (rev had just beaten soulman in the Ace last week), and MrFool who has never won a game against Roz before on the many times they played on ladder, with both of them ending up winning 2-0. TargA and PiG picked up somewhat expected wins with HuT being used as the aLt substitute. dementia who nirvAnA called up to ask where he was 5 mins before the scheduled match time said "huh am i'm playing today?" and was promptly kicked from the clan and castrated on the spot. Kidding but no more love for you. Anyway the last game between YoonYJ and iceiceice will be played next week and will definitely be a super exciting match to watch.
Round 2 of the fourth SC2SEA League tier sees TA claim top spot with a convincing 5-1 win over PDCL podium placers VB. The victory was decided before all games were complete as team captain MiLes and his Masters rank charges cleaned up with 2-0 each. The last two matches went 1-1 to prevent the complete wipeout from VB. This win gives the PDCL underperformers TA some breathing room at the top of the table with a solid for-against score and unfortunately bumps VB to dead last. Next week TA fact another team from the bottom half of the league, TCP, and may look to tighten their grip on the league.
Despite amazing success in the top tier, Chinese powerhouse ToT fell 2-4 to newcomers KFC in a closely fought 2-2 match which ended in a 1-2 Ace match scoreline. Both of these teams now hover around the top half of the ladder within striking distance of top place.
Imperium took out the ever expanding Tasmanian team (already used 3 subs!) SCT in decisive fashion with a 4-2 scoreline. Well deserving of their second place on ladder, Imperium look to next week where they could claim top spot. SCT on the other hand will have to pull together with some of the new additions to get in to the top half of the standings.
The only draw of the round occurred between NaZ Gaming, with their awesome new logo nearing completion, and FaDe's second team lead by Audacity. Despite a strong start from FaDe, a close fourth match where Termite went down 1-2 to Zenabi meant NaZ secured the draw with their captain taking out their wildcard Ace convincingly. Neither of these teams will be wanting to draw again in the near future as they both need those precious ladder points to get off the bottom rungs.
Last PDCL champions AsG hit back this week with a good victory over fellow heavyweights ToR, with the usual suspects from AsG shining in Goosejuice, Zealo and Thor. Surprisingly one of their top performers from last season in Nasch lost his match against the wildcard opponent Contrast in a ZvZ.
With most of the Oceanic teams out of the way, the last few matches were between the dominant Southeast Asia based teams. It was a good day for the Philippines as HDMD and eXo's B-Team both ran out 4-2 winners against their opponents, iRL and TCP respectively. All games were close, but in particular AZKmokss taking out crAzerk and Ceephyr winning the ace match 2-1 were telling matches for these teams.
As of the time of writing, the ZeroCraft vs FaDe #1 match scheduled for Monday has not completed!
As usual thanks to all the wonderful individual league admins and team leaders who work their asses of make the leagues and reporting of results possible despite there being 200+ games been played every week !
And that wraps up the second week! By next week SEA Player Database (Like the TLPD) will be launched and every game over the past 2 weeks will be slowly added in! I'm going to look at a way at integrating that to display the results so its easier for admins to use.
