My suggestion for the strategy show would be don't overcomplicate it.
I tuned in for a little bit last Friday and i saw ninja playing some micro map with the rest watching, which not only seemed like a bit of a waste of time for the players but also a waste for the viewers too, i mean, just mentioning the map in passing would be enough as opposed to watching a guy micro a fight (which in this certain scenario was a pretty unrealistic fight, we then watched him run a super-fast roach around dodging banelings.. wat?)
My 2c on what the friday night shows should be is just 1 matchup focus between 2 players and whoever else wants to be there, like, have say yang and ninja next friday night solely playing a few pvz's, and then discussing, in depth, the flaws and strengths of their play, the ways in which the map shaped their strategy (or didn't and perhaps a mistake to play a certain way on a certain map) etc.
benefits:
I feel like that would be actually beneficial to the players
really good educational value for viewers (instant analysis from 2 high level players)
viewers know instantly what theyre going to get (analysis and games of XvsY matchup, so they know if they want to tune in or not straight away)
Simple entertainment of watching games while the 2 play the said matches with infeza commentating
cons:
Might result in less viewers as 1/3rd of people (and, if you decide to do mirror matchups, 2/3rds) won't be interested in matchup analysis that doesn't involve their own race
May get stale after doing the exact same format week in week out
Yeah, thanks for the feedback Pinder! Still trying to find out our roots and we are going to do something more like this. Just 1v1 With pure discussion about the matchup, playing multiple games, with ideas to improve the build etc.
The problem i have is the audience skill level, as players like you would want to watch to learn really high level in depth stuff, where as some players for the lower leagues will not really understand or it won't really effect their play.
We'll just continue working on it then and see which ways is the most engaging for the audience.
