TL;DR: I am young and enthusiastic to help the community, tell me how to do so! I can also cast matches!
The name's CleighMoores a hailing from Melbourne, Victoria and before anything else I am a fresh new fan to Starcraft 2 and competitive gaming, only having discovered the scene a few months ago, but more recently I have taken a deeper interest in hopefully contributing to the community! Firstly...
Despite hearing about an 'oversaturation' of casters I've stubbornly gone ahead and started to record some of my own casts (I'll stick some links down below) because my biggest strength is speaking and presenting. More about this down below (I'd rather not focus on plugging my amateur channel).
More importantly I am enthused about finding ways I can directly help the community be it helping with tournament setup, flogging upcoming events, helping out with media, or even perhaps lending a hand with modding live events. I am still very fresh to the scene but I have always had a passion for being organised (I love seeing a plan come together) and holding the attention of an audience either by being interesting or just really weird, so if there's anything I could help with there I would more than love to hear about it!
An idea I had recently and one that could work - depending on necessity and demand of it - is a group or community for the entertainment/media side of competitive gaming in SEA. Initially I thought "What if there was a place for any caster/presenter, event organiser, stream host (etc.) to gather, collaborate and support one another?" with the potential to help flourish current, new, or emerging talent, perhaps eventually grow this community to a global scale (a clearly ambitious move). Please correct me if there already is a place like this, I'm still feeling out the scene to see what's out there, but if not I'd like to hear what sort of demand there is.
Other than that, I am merely a young man who's taken a year out after completing VCE to find his way and I think this is a great place to start, so if there's anything that needs attending to that an amateur such as myself can help out with, point me in that direction! One thing I'm trying to do is become more familiar with forums (still a very new platform for me) so I can contribute with discussions and hype a little more!
Now, as to my ability to cast, I have a mid-level knowledge of the game and most of it is very shallow, so I cannot offer in-depth analysis to the tune of Tastosis or Day9, but I believe I can however offer easy-listening, fast paced yet comprehensible play-by-play, entry level analysis, and offer a portal for newer fans of the game to become acquainted with competitive play. Here's an example of my work so far (a few more games in the queue and I plan to record regularly).
SKMC v. EmpireViolet
IEM Season 6 Quarter Finals (I think? Sort of grabbed some random replays without checking the background info xD)
3 Games
I'd love to hear some feedback if possible, and with my knowledge I think I'll hone my casts to focus on that entry-level analysis and play-by-play talk (at least until I know enough about maps, players, the meta-game etc. to make informed analysis). Unfortunately my internet stops me from streaming on a reliably regular schedule (0.75Mbps Up on a good day), but pre-recorded stuff at least allows me to record in 720p.
