Blizz is releasing patch 2. Mudda&*^% 1 (2.1). Fix to league distributions, addition of bits and bobs (including clan events and clan decals in game. Nice!)

Remember to be careful about which server you log onto until all servers have been patched. SEA is getting the patch on a Thursday instead of a Monday, like normal.

Also probs time for admins of league restricted tourneys/team leagues to start thinking about how they will handle mass promotions (assuming the promos kick in for this season).

And glad to hear they are fixing league distributions. Having so many ex-Masters in Gold/Plat is pretty silly.

Tuesday, Jan 21 – Americas, Europe
Wednesday, Jan 22 – Korea and Taiwan, China
Thursday, Jan 23 – Southeast Asia and Oceania

One thing i don't really understand is that this patch is the same (not like a different patch for each region), no matter what region it is. So they should just apply the patch to all server/region at the same time, no matter what the time it is. Kind of silly to me.

They have scheduled maintenance times for all the servers... they almost always roll out patches during that time.

I believe they also do not want to shut down all the servers at the same time, leaving players with nowhere to play at all for several hours

So it takes a day, to do apply an Update? Hopefully the Update really good for the amount of downtime it will cause to the region.

huh?

They do scheduled maintenance for a few hours. Some weeks this may involve a patch, but they generally do the patch when the server is going to be down anyway to avoid inconveniencing anyone...

Anyway...hopefully they fix the league distribution...it will be certainly interesting to see if people are happy with it or the update made i worse...lol

Standard practice to do a staged rollout of a patch or update, all throughout IT land! If something goes wrong it will affect the first patch group first and they can fix before rolling out to the rest!

also we can play in other servers whilst begin patched in ours!
