Teams only recruit on an invite basis. Go play in any of our numerous online tournaments to impress them. Being GM is not enough, particularly on SEA which is a joke ladder.
There are social clans you can join though.

Just for reference, DevilMayCare, don't take the above as being condescending. It's a blunt truth that is hard to tip-toe around.
Practice and play and do what you can to market yourself without looking like a retard. You'll eventually get some good attention.
I am going to get EXTREME hate for saying this. But nobody said to livibee that SEA GM was a joke everyone said gratz etc and if they didn't they got told to bugger off. Bring me the hate.
But yeah get gm on another server .

no hate from me, its kinda sad really... no one wanted to say it because 1, she's popular within the scene and 2. she's a girl
The fundamental difference is one person was celebrating an achievement (promotion to GM) and another person is actually claiming that achievement means something... No need to shit on their celebration, but a reality check in the second case can be reasonable.
Livi (or almost anyone else who has achieved Sea GM in the last 8-9 months) has really said that means anything particularly huge about their skill level.
SEA GM definitely means something, the difference between livi getting it and this dude is that livi doesn't intend to join a team off of it (well, ok technically she's part of Nv but not for her starcraft ability. I think)

im pretty sure she did blog about her wanting to get onto a proper team, not 100% sure though.
While I know there are many good players out there, being a gm on any server is an achievement even if it doesnt mean that a certain player might be outstandingly above to be in a top pro team and/or beyond etc. It is not an achievement that can be achieved just by everyone and still represents the top tier of players. I think we shouldnt just dismiss the achievements of those who achieve it legitly, even if it's on SEA.
That said in context, what they are really trying to say is, if you hope to be picked up/ join a pro team, doing well in tournaments and getting gm on the servers where getting gm is harder, would help you towards your goal.
Good luck

"and we'll invest more on Bots, as our first Trial bot, the 'NemBotElie' was a huge success, organising tournaments and being part of the Council of mGG. But there are a few bugs in which the bot cannot go past the skill level of a Platinum Protoss." - PaRAnorMaL
There are many online teams on the SEA Server that accept players to scrim and play casually online.
You mentioned you are from Melbourne and would like a SC2 team, are you talking about an active LAN team that plays competitively? Maybe it would be worth checking out the Melb lan scene and getting your name in there? I'm not sure of melbs lan scene but it has to be a good start
