After a good result at EB Expo Sydney Mackenzie ‘fray`Petraeus’ Smith secured himself a trip to the Esports World Cup in Paris, France where he has been placed into a group with Defending Champion and Evil Geniuses French Starcraft II hero, Ilyes ‘Stephano’ Satouri.

Thirty two players from around the world will be gathering this weekend in Paris for the ESWC all chasing the Champion title and the $20,000 first place prize. Frenetic Array’s New Zealand Zerg will be competing amongst them at his third International tournament in as many months.

This time he will be lucky enough to be joined by Frenetic Array’s Team Manager Nicolas ‘Chadmann’ Russo on his trip, which will ensure he can focus on playing his best in his biggest appearance in his Starcraft II career to date.

While he has been placed in a difficult group with the defending champion and Swedish Zerg Rikard ‘SortOf’ Bergman - he has been given a rare opportunity to play against some of the best Zerg’s in the world; a very valuable learning experience.

It was for one month, so I assume that it was just till the end of october that he was banned.

Hey guys, no stream for Pet yet but I'm logged into EU keeping an eye on him.

Currently 1-0 vs SortOf and in game 2 right now!

Update: Pet 1-1 vs SortOf on Cloud, from the match history looked like the both went for ling bane pressure and SortOf came out on top by quite a large margin but Pet managed to hold out for a 25minute game!

Pet 1-2 vs SortOf, game 3 on Ohana - from match history looks like standard pool first into macro game for both with SortOf getting the advantage somewhere in the mid-gamethen getting a better engage and winning the game... im just looking at match histories so might not be perfect :P

They changed the order of the games, Pet is playing vs Freizy now. (I'm gonna assume they're doing this because they want to stream Stephano vs Pet - I could be wrong though)

Will update this post with score vs Freizy. Don't know anything about him but apparently hes really good, Protoss AFAIK.

Update: Pet 1-0 Freizy, 25 min game. looks like standard immortal expand from freizy on entombed and macro game from pet. I'm gonna guess he won with his first brood push!

Pet 1-1 Freizy, 16 min game. Pretty sure it was an Immo Sentry allin on Cloud... So hard to hold on Cloud

Pet 2-1 Freizy, 45 min game on Ohana. Since it was a 45 min zvp I'm sure you can guess what happened... Chad just text me saying that they mined out the map! infestor brood imba yo~
