Well, it’s time. Today we celebrate Meta-Game Gods 1 year Birthday. 1 year ago Thoth made the announcement that him and CwnAnnwn (now known as NoRe, thank god for a name that people can actually pronounce) were starting a small new BSG Practice clan aimed at encouraging players to simply practice with each other, to talk about and discuss different styles and strategies and of cores to simply enjoy the game together.
Through the success of the system that Thoth and NoRe had established, helping players improve through a friendly and supportive environment, promotions started flying in. As the players improved and promoted it was time to begin to move away from purely BSG, and time to begin to find new players of Platinum, then Diamond, than eventually Masters league to join the ranks. mGG began a system, of not recruiting higher league players until mGG’s own members had first reached that level them selves. A system that went on all the way from the BSG roots, up until we started achieving Grand Master players.
First Diamond : mGG Muex First Master: Nomad (shortly after left to join TN, mGGSouth was the next one to achieve master.) First Grandmaster: mGGAlpha
Though we have players achieving the rank of GM, mGG still put a heavy emphasis on the lower league players of the clan. With the higher league players often and helping to assist and practice with some of the lower league players of mGG.
Over the year mGG has held a number of in house tournaments for its players. A way to reward them for their hard work and dedication. These tournaments include:
mGG In House 1: Won by mGGNihc mGG In House 2: Won by mGGSouth mGG In House 3: Won by mGGSouth mGG Funday Comp: Won by mGGProbe mGG Summer Swiss: Won by mGGTitan mGG Race War: Won by Protoss
mGG has participated in MANY clan wars over the year in all 3 of our divisions, Bronze Silver Gold, Platinum Diamond, and Master Grandmaster. As well as holding 2 ‘Fully loaded’ (as coined by DrGooSe) Clan wars with TCP and ToR which were great fun, doing a big 3 part clan war involving the entire team from Bronze to Grandmaster. A big shout out and thank you must got to Duckvillelol, MattyB and Mirth for the many, many, many…. many hours they have spent casting our clan wars and in house competitions. And a big thank you to every other caster who has given their time to help make these clan wars and other competitions much more fun to experience, participate and to watch.
On the 23rd of August last year mGG made one of their biggest announcements to date, that they had picked up 3 sponsors: VroomVroomVroom, TickTax and Dejan SEO. The partnership between these sponsors and mGG is built on the goal of helping improve all of the Starcraft 2 E-Sport scene in SEA. With all the money going back into the community through tournaments and competitions hosted by mGG, the biggest of which will begin in a couple months called: The SEANA Trials! (More information coming at a later date)
As we have grown, we have always put community first, be it the community of E-Sports as a whole, the community of the SEA server or the community of this close group of friends that we have kept and built upon over time. And this is what we always strive to improve upon Community. Through remaining active on forums such as sc2sea.com and the SEA bnet forums, with the ever growing community in the in game chat channel ‘mGG’ (record so far is 58 people at once ) and with the opportunities that we as a team have been able to meet in person hang out with each other and help grow our friendships. (Such as WCS Australia, IEM Singapore, the mGG 1 year SG party and more.)
Since becoming the leader with DrGooSe, it has been a great honor and privilege to lead this group with the help of the others in the leadership team, Thoth, NoRe, Nemesis, Muex and Asrathiel. There are some amazing people who I’m very glad to be able to call my friends. And my year wouldn’t have been remotely close to the same if it weren’t for mGG. So I’ll finally finish this long rant by saying Happy Birthday to mGG. And here’s hoping for many more years to come!

I've been on a fair few clans, both in AOE3 and over on the NA server and I can confidently say that none of them have been half as friendly, welcoming and passionate about the game as mGG. It's been a pleasure to be part of such a wonderful clan, and I can't wait to see where we will go in the next year.
A few shoutouts:
Ali - The first game we played you beat me with a nexus first into DT/nix/obs and I remember thinking shit, I wanna join this clan, even just to get some more crazy games with this guy. Thanks for always getting me games in CWs even if I was ahhh... slightly hard to contact (soon, I promise).
Nembot - You're probably the nicest person on the internet and in many ways, you're mGG's Mothership.
I remember when you guys started out it was filled with BSG players practicing with one another.
(with the exception of a few players who thought they were all that and kept shit talking. Don't remember who but its just a small drop in a massive ocean )
Here's to you guys!

It was exactly one year ago that I came across the first mGG thread Thoth put up. I dropped him a PM, he replied and asked me to come on to the mGG public chat and then... there was 3... and 5... and 15....a year later... 58! Congrats!
I am so happy and incredibly fortunate that the first clan I joined turned out to be such a great place where great people hang out. mGG is especially dear to me since its about the only place I get to play some games with mates and not feel the crazy anxiety that grips me every time I press the 1v1 search button.
Thanks for the games mGG. And more importantly, thanks for the company!
lol meant to say but before I can edit the enter key was pressed accidentally
So decided to make an post instead.
After I joined mGG, never looked back. Met some great ppl. Had loads of fun. Just makes me feel like wanting to do stuff for this bunch of fun loving, competitive, nice group of people.
Happy Birthday

"and we'll invest more on Bots, as our first Trial bot, the 'NemBotElie' was a huge success, organising tournaments and being part of the Council of mGG. But there are a few bugs in which the bot cannot go past the skill level of a Platinum Protoss." - PaRAnorMaL
I never dreamt that mGG would end up where it has, and yet still hold its original purpose of being a relaxed, happy environment for like-minded individuals who love starcraft. A very big thankyou to everyone who has contributed over the year to make mGG what it is, we would not have ended up where we are without you.
A thank-you to alpha (ali) for being an awesome individual, both as a practice partner, and as a manager for mGG, his hard work also gained us sponsorship, I can not thank him enough for his service to mGG.
A big thank-you to Asrathiel and DrGoose, from very early on and right through to today, you two have shaped mGG with your contributions, and your help in managing mGG over the course of the year is very much appreciated, both by me and everyone in mGG.
I also thank CwnAnnwn (NoRe), the person who helped me to start all this, you have become a great friend of mine over the course of the year, and without you mGG would not exist at all.
A thank-you also goes out to Muex, although his involvement has slowed since moving, he too has contributed much to mGG.
Nemesis, while you only recently joined, I extend a big thank-you to you as well, your a very, very good captain who's contributions will only lead mGG upwards and onwards. Seriously, your amazing Nem.
I also extend my thanks to all the original members of mGG who where with us in the beginning, especially mGGNihc, you have stuck with us throughout, have always been friendly and polite and you have always been a skilled practice partner, I'm honoured to have you with us, you embody the spirit of mGG.
Despite all the personal thankyou's that I have just given, I extend my thanks to everyone, member or not, who has made mGG what it is today, and I hope we all have another fantastic year together
Thank you everyone ^______^
