Same here, I'm unbelievably sick of Protoss vs Terran all in. I can't seem to win against Terrans at all!

Hmm.... Lemme get my mind back in tune with bronze levels.... Beware, the advice I will give you is not micro intensive and will hinder your progress from gold upwards but if you want a starting point as a bronze level player, you can listen to my advice.

I'm guessing you're one basing and being in bronze, the all-ins would come at around the 10 minute mark? Correct me if I am wrong. Now you want to make as many sentries as you can because dealing with those pushes, you really need sentries to FF the ramp and to allow you to warp in more units. A 4 gate with 2 gas rather than just the 1 gas would work as long as you have a stalker/sentry/zealot ratio of around 1/1/2. If you're engaging their units out in the open, land as many forcefields as you can even if the forcefields are landed in bad locations, just spam them and try to cut their army into little bits and chunks. Ideally, you want to cut their army in half so only the front half is able to attack you. Without FFs, even with mass chargelots, you wouldn't stand much of a chance. Use zealots to tank the dmg and the stalkers to deal the armour dmgs to the marauders. Remember to warp in units during the battle. Make sure you have a pylon near your army so you can get reinforcements quickly. Abuse the warpgate tech of protoss.

Try to NOT wall against a terran because when they are pushing up the ramp, they can snipe your cyber core even if you managed to land a FF and that usually means gg for you.

If you were to go 3 gate robo, unless you scout an early push from him, you can skip the immortal and get colo off 1 base. Get the colo first before you get the thermal lance upgrade. Remember to FF your ramp and have stalkers kite the units from the high ground because you would rarely have your colo done when his army comes knocking on your ramp. Basically, sentries are a must in dealing with marines and marauders. If you can hold off that attack, you can either expand or try to finish the game off depending on how many units you have but remember. DO NOT make too many stalkers. That's a mistake that most bronze players tend to make. You still need zealots to tank and sentries for FF. Forcefielding around a bunker when pushing or around the depot/barracks wall (i'm assuming that's standard in bronze) stops their army from getting close to your army on the ramp and also stops the scvs from repairing those structures. You'll get to kill off 1 rax and 2 depot and possibly a bunker with minimal loss.

That's a very basic strat and if dealing with that army composition is all you're worried about, then this is the way to go. There are better ways to deal with it and expand but that'll be left to the masters/GM players to provide you advice on. Hope that helps.

what do you open with? 3gate expand? 2gate/core expand? 4gate? 3gate/vr? are you keeping up with probe production? are you scouting your opponent to see whether your current build will be effective? (if you dont see an expo or lots of rax and you went ahead and blindly 1 gate expanded on say Meta you will probably die :<)

How soon do you get your 2nd gas? try and get ~5 sentries out with zealot support if the terran comes in for an attack you can easily "trap" his forces in a "cup" shape and let zealots clean the rest up.

Don't try and get immortals, chances are the Terran is going for ghosts and with ghost's EMP your immortals will melt , try and experiment with a safe build, i.e 3gate/robo expand, you can apply pressure on the terran and most of the time the game ends there.

If you chose to harass while thats going on try and get a robo bay out for collossi, get 3-4 of them and you should be able to beat pretty much anything :>

The key to stopping a one base push like that is FF's. Cut his army in half at a choke and your good to go. (Assuming you've been macroing decently and have a reasonable sized army).

Not sure it's a bronze way to go, but fast colossus on top of 3 warpgates is just as good at stopping 3(4) rax 1-base from T. The advantage of colossus is that you can also break tank contains. Disadvantage - much more micro intensive.

Here is a replay of a game i played yesterday. I scouted a marauder and figured it was either 2-rax into expo or 3-rax. When he arrived with 2-nd wave of marauders, I knew it was 3(4) rax. I got my colossus out just in time, and eventually repelled the push.

I lost in the end for various reasons (bad probe saturation, didn't add production, attacked his gold when I had advantage and should've just macroed, etc.), but that's not the point. 14 min wave brawl of 3gate+robo vs 4 rax at my base. Check it out, if you want to try colossus play.

On top of that, another example of colossus opener on metalopolis, but this time opp went 3-rax into expo, then tanks (!), and grabbed gold. It's a lengthy macro game, feel free to check it out if you want to know how it feels and plays out into mid game and late game.

Yeah, that dude didn't seem that impressed with your collosus defence I'm only bronze, but maybe you could have added 3 more gateways after the expo too? The extra production may have been helpful.

One base colossus is definitely your best bet. Go 2gate robo initially. Drop an expo if you think you're safe or a robo bay if it looks like they're going for some mass bio off one base. Replay from a recent game with me dealing with this below.

3gate robo works, just use ur FFs wisely , meaning position then that u let a little marines or marauders in , that way you cut his army a little bit, also dont forget while ur blocking ur ramp u build ur army , and send OBS to T base,, maximize pylons on the edge of ur base,, ull know when they are going marine all in , if they get late gas, or early pressure with reapers or hellions when they get gas , before or after rax .. i always have a diffuclt time with mmm, medivacs are imba, to easy to build and mass up,

Seeing as you're bronze, I won't offer advice that is excessively hard to grasp, the following should be enough to give you a general idea in your head as to how to handle the early aggression from Terrans.

For now, focus on opting for a 1 Gate Robo, into 3 Gate Robo opener. Here's an easy way to get your head around it, without writing out a "build order" shopping-list style approach;

  • From the outset of the game, always build probes (have your Nexus hot-keyed!)
  • At 13 supply (which is really the only time you'll be able to afford it if you've followed the first step) begin warping in your first Gateway.
  • Following that (while continuing making probes) build your gas (should come at 14 supply) & immediately put 3 probes in it upon completion.
  • At 15 supply, build your second pylon.
  • Then, while continuing to make probes (I know I've repeated this a lot, but this is what holds back a lot of Bronze league players) drop your cyber-core as soon as your Gateway is complete.
  • After your cyber-core, drop your second gas, again put 3 probes into it upon completion.
  • Once your cyber-core is complete; immediately begin researching Warp Gate.
  • Drop your Robo. (Upon completion, build an observer and send it along a "attack route" to your enemies base, in order to see if his push is on it's way, or he's expanding.
  • Drop 2 more gates when you've got the minerals.
From your gateways, begin making units you can afford - keeping in mind you want sentries, as as long as you've got 2-4 sentries when he's pushing your ramp, you can easily hold/repel the aggression and A) expand yourself, or B) end the game. Also, I hopefully have repeated the importance of always making workers enough, but always be producing out of your gateways as well, as soon as WG is complete - change them into WGs and begin warping units. And lastly, don't get supply blocked; that could very well end the game for you if you're facing some serious early aggression.

The above isn't a set of rules, set it stone - rather a rough guideline of things to follow to "play it safe" against a Terran opponents who are coming at you with early aggression. Then, further down the track, you'll feel comfortable doing a 3gate expo and being able to defend it but to reiterate what I said in the beginning - while you're in bronze, learn the basics and go from there.

GL&HF, hope you get around to destroying those no-good Terran forces... En Taro Tassadar!
