Our Stream status on the right is now fully functional courtesy of veteris, all "List My Stream" requests should use the automated function which requires a minimum of 25 posts. This thread will now serve as a place to discuss all things streamer related, including promoting your own stream / channel and announcements of new streams.
How to add your stream to SC2SEA
Minimum number of posts needed on sc2sea = 25.
Please do NOT just spam posts to get your stream listed. It's really obvious and annoying for everyone else.
Just click the link at the bottom of the SEA live stream widget (you may have to scroll down). If you have enough posts, you will see the link to apply.
How to edit your stream details
If you have a listed stream you can edit your stream details by going to your Configure my stream page. If you have any problems, you can post in this thread.
How to be a successful streamer
1. Commit to your stream by being regular, active:
This is the most important part which many people fail to realise. Simply listing your stream won't get you viewers because theres so much more to watch out there. Don't blame us for not being featured or for other streams going on at the same time lol, its not our fault, but its something you can help make better. Viewers want familiarity, and to know every time they click your stream they can expect the same good stuff they are used to instead of a guy who just streams once a week - he will have no following! Be a regular, active streamer that people will be familiar with - MaFia and PiG are excellent examples of this. To be "featured" generally it isn't enough to be just a top player and thats it. You have to have prove you are active and dedicated to be fair to the other streamers who have earned their featured status.
2. Offer a pleasurable experience for the viewer:
You are in competition with 100s of streamers at any point of time. Why would they end up watching YOUR stream instead of someone else, like HuK, Idra, Sheth, etc. You have to offer something cool, unique to SEA or basically find a way to make your stream enjoyable in its own way.
The first step would be to spend time learning how to fine tune your stream so its the best quality possible and the viewer will enjoy the quality. The second step would be to either add commentary / interact with your viewers while playing (destiny/sheth,etc) or offer something different be it a high level gamer whom people would be interested to watch (idra/huk) or something new (playing on SEA, sc2 beta, etc).
If you are in the middle ground in terms of skill and have no intention of viewer interaction then I hate to break it to you but your stream will probably not succeed. People will just not be interested and will not watch your stream Please don't take it personally its just that there are more entertaining stuff to watch out there. Streaming has become a pretty tough and competitive market already, so don't get you expectations up and hope to become a popular streamer once your stream is added.
Summary:
To be a successful streamer it takes time and hard work (Rule 1) and that something extra too (Rule 2). However if you just wan to stream and have your friends / clan watch as well as a few random visitors who happen to click on your stream then yea, you won't be disappointed.
Q: How do I obtain featured status?
The easiest way would be to met the above two criteria. Other then that, "Top Players" and certain people who have contributed to the community are given special leeway.
Some examples of our featured Streamers are: MaFia, Light, PiG (Top players + Regular Streamers) and Benji, HuT, System, kelly (sc2sea Casters)

Hello fellow SEA Starcrafters, my name is GnSHocus (Simon), a Master League Zerg player ~~
For the love of the game and to provide hopefully some sort of entertainment to anyone bored on a weeknight, I have decided to start streaming my ladder and practice games.
Eventually I will start talking about why I get owned post-game and defending any decision making that happens during =D... Feel free to come and banter me along the way, and hopefully we can all learn something (I will be streaming most week nights from around 7-11pm Melbourne time).
Cheers.

I just started broadcasting on the South East Asian server on SC2 on YouTube!!!!
Clan I have been broadcasting for:
1. Clan 99
2. TA (Terror Australis)
I am under Clan 99 and for those of you that don't know the players from Clan 99, here is a link to the players: http://sc2ranks.com/c/2643
I am currently casting a clan war between Clan 99 and TA, and I have just started with about 2-4 videos, along with some in-clan tourneys inside 99. I hope you guys check my channel out, because I think I will be getting on to clan wars between Clan 99 and nGen (Which is I think, the top clan in the SEA server). I will also be casting replays of Clan 99 vs WaRcRy, which was a pretty good WC3 clan.
I also hope I can cast some cool replays from any of you, and I am really open to casting replays for anybody. So if you think there's a replay that I can cast for you, please send it to stitchreplays@live.hk - or add me on SEA server!
Char: Stitch
Code: 520
I hope you guys can watch some of my games and give me some feedback, as I have just started doing this, and I hope i can continue casting for the SEA server!
Thanks, and hope you guys check my channel out!
Peace,
Stitch

Thx nGen Geek!
I'm going to be doing a few dual casts with TAChampi on SEA soon.
Yea... stereotypical asians have accents lol :P But the accent I have is more toward an american one lol...
Anyways, I hope you guys can send some replays to me, I'd be happy to cast them

um is ur stream not smooth? coz i have adsl2+ and its just not smooth (maybe need some better compression b4 u upload)
AND HIDE THE TIMER
Yeah.. my stream is a bit laggy cause of my computer trying to run on HQ. I might have to reduce it to medium quality if its really affecting the video.
Yea, the thing is, I'm using a Mac. And I don't know of any applications that can overlay the timer. I'd love to find a program into doing that, because I have all he banners ready, I just don't have any application to use to overlay my timers when I record.

Hey hey!
Good to see another person who's smart enough to do away with Windows. Yay for you brother. Join the revolution.
Anywho, in terms of Mac compatible overlay programs. You've got a few options, just google (Mac osX + Overlay program) and you should find something. Although from what I've read alot of visual art designers on Mac use Adobe Lightroom for their overlays. Pretty sure this is a free download aswell.
I'll look into it for ya,
Peace.
Edit: Yup Adobe Lightroom seems like it could be a good option. Allows you to create overlays in any level of transparency. I might have to get one of these programs. You know, just in case.

Hey dude, thank you so much for this - I've been trying to find programs similar to the overlays that windows use - but there are none for mac. I'll test them out as soon as I can!
If you have any updates about this, please inform me! it'll be great, because I can finally use the banners I made! o.o
actually quite good casts man

Sigh another 1 of those moron who tries to bring themselves up by talking down on others. The fact that you won a little more than you lost isn't 99% but i guess delusional people like you think that way. Don't try to act all friendly in front of people and then go talk shit behind their back. Taking pride in beating my zvp in the first place is a joke anyways.

I was only joking, but seeing you so serious makes me tickle XD
Posting up some of my replays and first person view of my ladder matches. Ladder Games are on NA and SEA server. So far not much up yet but you can expect more videos to eventually come out.
Feel free to leave feedback so I can improve my play, I'm only Diamond League at the moment so there are plenty of flaws in my play for everyone to pick on =]
Following my somewhat rocky debut with Benji I decided it's probably time i try and let people know about my youtube channel. I've been casting the last few dogsi semis and finals games on a regular basis, may be doing some of the qualifier finals this month.
:3 I'll edit this post & link to my youtube/stream channel once I get things up on them...
I'm very new to casting but i'm willing to give it my best.
It would be nice to also get help if anyone is free :3 or MKP we could just try & work it out together 8D
I'm Stitch, also a new caster that started about 3-4 weeks ago on SEA server with TAChampi and my clan - which is Clan 99. I've been casting for some individuals who have sent me some replays :P
And I've casted a few clan vs clan matches with my clan vs TA and will be casting for 99 vs GnS and 99 vs WaRCrY. Hope you guys can gimme a sub or two and give me feedback!
I haven't updated in awhile but I'm looking to do it again soon once I get a new microphone. I cast NA and SEA server games and I'm also a caster for gosugamers.net
The SEA server games are some of the first games I casted, I casted the Qualifier E and F semis and grand finals for the Pinoy Starcraft tournament.

Had a quick look at your youtube channel and I can see zero SEA games. Care to point me in the right direction or are you just that desperate to plug?
Hi all, I post HD casts and walk-throughs for the everyday gamer by the everyday gamer. You can get all my links from my website http://siliconsports.net. I recently did a few cast for the FaDe Monthly and a few previous BSG tournaments.
Also will be casting my laddering from bronze to whatever on livestream.
I usually cast tourneys or replays coming from the Philippines but i wanna try to change it up soon!
- Made some Vods for the PH v SG, TH, IN from Nation Wars Season 1
- I've been hosting Quickie Tourney Series to keep the competition up in the PH community.
- Casted the latest Nation Friendly Showmatch between Philippines and Singapore with mezza.
I still suck and I do need some constructive criticism from you guys.
Well I am considering starting up a weekly exhibition series. With maybe a few master players or something like that.
It will be a best of 5 and I will hold them probably on a Friday each week. I have quite a few high level friends who are usually Willing to play and yeah.
If you guys are interested ill be hosting and EVENTUAAAALLY (heres hoping I find some casting software =/) be casting the game series and yeah stayed tuned, Ill keep you all posted
I was wondering guys what program do you use to cast your games and replays and that? I have a screen capture thing but i dont know if its any good =/
Right now all the rage is using Fraps and Sony Vegas (Adobe Primere Pro or Windows Movie Maker) but I'm thinking about trying out Camtasia and seeing how that will work. This way is a bit harder because it requires a lot of tweaking of settings.
If you are a REAL baller, you can stream at a 1500 kbps bitrate at the HD 720p resolution and take the FLV file from your stream (on Ustream, Jtv, etc.) and try and upload that. You'll need a high upload rate for that kind of thing though, this way is much much easier but it's too reliant on having godly streaming capability
Edit:
I added on to what is easier and what is harder

Yeah like geno said FRAPS for offline casting is the most popular, but be aware you will have to do comressing and encoding and I hear it eats a lot of system resources.
For live streaming I have found the best app out there to be XSplit
There is a pro level adobe one (forgot the name) if you happen to have a capture card (most do not)
For streaming go xsplit a shot, it really is rediculously easy but be aware you'll need very good connection to get good quality
Also I believe xsplit can be set to record files locally ?? haven't looked into though.
anyone one need a tutorial I'll wip one up - just ask - but its pretty simple. ^^
Fraps, VirtualDub and Audacity (if extra audio is needed)
Fraps is pretty cheap though and well worth the expense if you are going to record locally. It does chew up disk space quite a bit so make sure you have a spare terabyte to capture the fraps avi files. Its roughly 4 GB per 90 seconds of recording.
VirtualDub is free and pretty easy to join all the files and then encode in a compressed format. I use the DivX codec to compress my clips.
I will be looking at Premiere Pro in the future because I want to add a few more dynamic elements to my clips. But it is quite costly. Vegas could be a good alternative option.
For streaming, check out livestream.com, ustream.com and justin.tv. One may be better in terms of quality depending on your location and upload speeds.
Thanks dude, wait I didnt knnow the Sony vegas did screen capture???
And fraps isnt freeware so Im sure thats out atm im using camstudio but thanks anyway mate
Fraps captures your screen while Sony Vegas/Adobe Premiere Pro/etc. all compress it to Youtube HD so it's easier.
For streaming, Livestream seems to be the easiest (haven't gotten around to Xsplit) while the others do require the Adobe Flash Media Encoder and a program like VHrScreenCap to capture the screen
Taking constructive criticism and feedback on what you guys want to see. If the channel takes off and you guys want more content produced I will set up an email address to accept replays.
I am also working on having the right to cast via a high quality dedicated stream service, more on that if and when things proceed.
Please leave your comments here or PM me, I will endeavor to check both sources.
Streamers not listed can submit your streams now by posting here!
Streamers with no race next to their name should post in this thread as well and we will update it.

I'm not a caster, but I watch a lot of streams (probably about 6 hours worth a day).
Just a bit of feedback, I've found Justin.tv to be the best stream over livestream/xsplit/3dtv/ustream. You record at the highest quality you can, then Justin.tv re-encodes it, so that the users can set what quality they want to view it at (240p, 480p, 720p and Best (though I've noticed 720p is not always shown, which I guess means the broadcaster hasn't got the connection for higher quality)). This allows the users to lower the quality if it's lagging. And the quality of best is really great, and i rarely have to lower it to stop it lagging.
But that's just my personal opinion. And having a brief look through the thread, most people already are using it. just some feedback for those others.

The (TCL)Taiwan Clan league is currently looking for a good SEA streamer to represent SEA and stream some of the league games in English.
The TCL has some of the best teams/players in Taiwan like RusH and Sen, with some of the best SEA clans like nGen taking part as well.
This is a great opportunity for those with a little but not plenty of expereince who want to get involved more in the casting scene who have the free time to be able to commit to this. The chosen person upon performing well will also be given the opportunity to cast our Code S SEASL games next season.
Other requirements
Basic knowledge of casting setups with some live experience
Able to commit at least 1 night a week to casting.
Professional approach and eager to improve.
If you're interested PM me and ill foward you the contact of the Taiwanese Admin.

It is to my knowledge that an admin will post in this thread when it is confirmed that your stream is on the list. If you want to look as though you weren't as spoiled as you think you are, then I advise that you should post in a particular thread (http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=670), or thereby be in contempt of receiving a warning or possibly a ban. It is to my best interests that you continue your stay at SC2SEA.com with nothing but your genuine interest in helping us grow our community.

I'll be streaming ladder/custom games both high level 1v1s and team games. Might see the occasional custom, or casting of other (probably low level friends) players. Also occasionally attempt to coach some friends, so might see me streaming that.

Maybe i worded out my post wrong, but asking someone to 'fix' the livestream box (saying that its broken) 2 days after your original post, -end-

ok i think we have been pretty liberal about adding streams as well as some of the other features on the site.
whats going to happen now is it users will have to trade in their reputation points to get their streams listed. its not going to be something unattainable basically something like 5 points will get your stream listed. How do u get reputation points? get someone to like your post and add to it and well make helpful posts. i dont want pple with like less than 5 posts already expecting t heir stream to be listed and well it will also ensure the stuff listed is off a higher quality from deserving members who contribute well.
so yea ill implement it this weekend. if u wanna really want ur stream listed get ur reputation points up (without abusing that just gets u banned) by making helpful posts and it will 100% be listed by then.

Hey I am a relatively new SC2 player who is learning really fast and am trying as hard as I can to become really good at the game. My stream is not only for my PoV of games, but for casting tournaments with my mate Solis. We are trying to get very involved in the sc2 scene and are trying in all aspects to do so.
I would appreciate any feedback, including criticism of builds/casting as well as general chit-chat.
I understand that I am still new here and that I may not be added right now. That's no problem, but if after a couple months I am suitable for the livestream feed, please refer back to this post ^_^

I have been playing for quite a while since november or december last year. I am grandmaster protoss on sea server and high masters protoss on na server (matched with lots of grandmasters). I felt like streaming would help improve my gameplay as people can see how i play and maybe give me criticism, so we can help each other ^^. I'm hoping to get grandmaster na server when there are spots or when the next season starts. Thanks everyone!
i don't see my stream listed . did something go wrong
Sometimes sc2sea updates the online stream list slow. Sometimes says its online when your not as well. Pretty unstable, but usually works if you restart your stream.
Hey guys im Jester, im a relatively new caster but with big ambitions of making it more than just a hobby.
Im 22 and im from Australia. I mainly play protoss but have started laddering as random recently.
I stream a lot of different things. First and foremost, usually once a game ill stream a replay that ill later upload to youtube. I also stream my laddering in SC2 occasionally and also when i jump on rift or TF2 just for a bit of fun.
p.s. I also recently helped cast the tt eSports challenge number 2 on 11/06/11 and you can check that out at www.justin.tv/anooburak and a huge thanks to pokerface for hosting that tournament on his stream.

I'm just streaming 1v1s and team games rather randomly depending on my mood but I do not cast. The quality of my stream is definitely not the best out there but here's the deal. Being a plat 1v1, you'll get to see all the noob mistakes a player does. Just by watching me. ALso, being a random player, you'll get to see all the noob mistakes made in every single one of the 3 races out there! It doesn't get better than that! As for team games, I'm an absolute noob with 4v4s, hate it with a passion, 3v3... I'm kinda impartial but it used to be my strength and 2v2s I just love them (nice short games). Expect lots of noob ass mistakes like failing all 4 gates in PvP, complete mismicro of my miners early game and sacing 200/200 armies into 120/200 armies. Also, I'm a genuine and really stubborn random. Not going to choose a particular race and stick with it.
Also, I do play in both the NA and the SEA servers.

I just recently joined GM and play very strangly so might be interesting to see. Also some crazy team strategy takes place.
Me and a mate are going to start a noobie cast/chat/thing where we talk about the sc2 game we are watching. We will only be doing bronze, silver and gold replays and its gonna be like a casual chat-cast on lower level gameplay from a lower level player's perspective/thoughts/feelings. We are also planning to mainly cover replays from Australia/SEA but we still don't have a name for it.
Would anyone here be interested in seeing something like that at all? we are planning on doing like ~10 games on Sunday and then if we think they are slightly > rubbish make a youtube channel and upload them.
Its a 1st time doing anything like this for us, so it wont be anything fancy

Hi guyz, im Cosmic (not to be confused with Cosmos)

Trying to get into GM on NA, will probably take a while. Will stream tourneys, customs, and other random stuff.
Our Stream status on the right is now fully functional courtesy of veteris. This thread will serve as a place to add your stream to our widget, as well as to discuss all things streamer related.
How to be a successful streamer
1. Commit to your stream by being regular, active:
This is the most important part which many people fail to realise. Simply listing your stream won't get you viewers because theres so much more to watch out there. Viewers want familiarity, and to know every time they click your stream they can expect the same good stuff they are used to instead of a guy who just streams once a week - he will have no following! Be a regular, active streamer that people will be familiar with - MaFia and PiG are excellent examples of this.
Q: How to be featured?
The easiest way would be to met the above two criteria. So would any "Top Player" or sc2sea caster who is proven and helps regularly in our events.
Some examples of our featured Streamers are: MaFia, Light, PiG (Top players + Regular Streamers) and Benji, HuT, System, kelly (sc2sea Casters)

Short Description of your stream:
My stream has two purposes: First I plan on streaming ladder for entertainment, the usual audience interaction, my thoughts as a masters player as I go through my matches. Also shoutcasting matches, currently doing clan wars at the moment with great feedback and would also like to do some other event type stuff.

Stream Description: Basically streaming sea ladder games very regularly now that hsc is over and my future lies in ruins :P, I now make my way to masters league from diamond through the power of mass ladder games. Also playing very diverse music ranging anything between extremes of symphonic metal to Jpop and will constantly answer any questions and engage in conversations through chat with viewers when the oppurtunity presents itself

Short Description of your stream: ill be streaming SEA and NA ladder while usually on TA Teamspeak. I also might be playing some customs with some TA members. I want to push for GM so i no longer get asked if im still in diamond from pinder (im in masters -.-) and i can finally say im in the top 200 of SEA

Short Description of your stream: I am an aspiring pro-gamer practicing and training hard to reach my goal. I am Grandmasters on SEA .I don't often play on SEA as I feel that KR is much better for me at the moment. I provide commentary and analysis (if I am not angry) of my play and overall an enjoyable experience for all viewers
I'll also be streaming clan matches between my clan Nerve (nRv) Gaming, and others, and maybe if I am allowed, casting matches in Community opens and GPD.
If I could simply be notified as to why my stream description is insufficient instead of employing these underhanded tactics it would be greatly appreciated. Looking over other stream descriptions that were accepted I struggle to see the flaws in my own. If greater reasoning as to why I wish my stream to be added is required I can provide it. It's fueled from my own experiences in this community as a noob when there were never many high level sea zergs streaming often besides mafia. I realise I am far from mafia's level at diamond but wish to provide some kind of educational material to those players below me seeking a stream but finding none online. I will be streaming very regularly in the coming days and thus is why I believe I can be of some help.
If there are still insufficiencies present in my request please alert me to them so I can remedy them immediately and waste as little of both your time and mine

Short Description of your stream: top 100 GM on the SEA server, I will be streaming practice games with clan mates, high masters NA ladder and SEA GM ladder too. Depending on my mood there may or may not be music/commentary. Whenever I get the chance I will be commentating as it is something I enjoy (outside of zvz, that's intense business). Recently finished second in the CO to ttPiG 1-3. I tend to liken myself to less skilled, less manner sheth, with slightly more trolling and an Australian accent.
Short Description of your stream:
Caster/Player from Canberra, Australia. I play mostly on the NA server due to ping/lag issues. Currently high Diamond league, looking to hit masters soon. I cast games on a regular basis and try to input content to the sc2 community as much as I can between Uni and work. More so a caster than player but plan to stream a LOT and cast a LOT. Whether it be my replays, user submission replays, pro-gamer replays or even a live tournament, I'm going to be doing a LOT!
Please check out my youtube and leave any comments/constructive criticism! (You might as well subscribe whilst you're there)
All comments and constructive criticism is welcome!! If you want a pro-gamer match casted, feel free to send it over and I will get right on it!
Happy to cast any replays and tournaments via stream and then upload the VOD to my youtube account! Send them to my email along with a short description of the replay.
