Wow, these last couple of weeks are proving full of news regarding the scene. Stephano announces on stream that he will be retiring from full time gaming to go back to his studies August 15th.

This makes me a little sad, I've always admired Stephano as a player. Making such a big name for himself in the game he has achieved so much within the last couple of years, it's sad to see him go, but I suppose there comes a point where you have to move on.

As some people have already stated on other forums, he just doesn't seem to be enjoying it as much as he used to

He always intended to, and with the increase in skill ceiling of sc2 we have seen his practice habits, or lack of, really hurt him. fair enough, he will remembered as one of the best foreigners. careers like these are the ones that go into legend.

Such a shame, but I think he has been loosing motivation recently, so it might be a good idea. There is no one else in the SC2 scene like him. Will be a big loss

Not surprising, quitting has been on his mind for a long long time now, but I guess with the deal EG gave him and how successful he was in tourneys he stayed on longer than originally planned. Still, always a sad day to see a talent and personality like him leave the scene.

I must say I am happy with his choice of leaving on high rather than a low! I wish him all the best with his studies in Medicine! Will miss him a lot, he was a true inspiration to foreigners and even the koreans! He changed how everyone played StarCraft 2 WoL and HotS! gg wp and gl hf in the future

One of the best foreigners there ever is, kind of sad to see him leave. But it's nice that he is making sure to set himself up for his future by going back to university. Who knows, maybe after he gets his degree we might see him again in LotV.
