After getting my confirmation email, it seems after everyone has registered, they will allocate a game to each shop, and because every other SC2 event has been at Chinatown, it makes sense THAT EVERYONE PUTS CHINATOWN DOWN AS THE FIRST CHOICE.
Registration is $40, and after you register it says 'Mail money to...', Just ignore this, you Pay on the Day.
For those not up to date on WCG Sydney, it will be on the 25th of June.
w00t signed up! Thanks as always Benji for finding out event details which organisers don't care enough to actually advertise, or even tell anyone about...
World Cyber Games Sydney Qualifier for SC2 - 25th June
---------- Introduction ----------
New Company. New Direction. World Cyber Games Australia is owned by a new company from the last couple of years, and are investing heavily into making this years event the best ever!
The first WCG qualifier is at CityHunter Chatswood, Burwood and Chinatwon, and we are flying a huge 56 people up to the National Finals at the EB Expo on the Gold Coast, and giving away more than $20 000 in prizes and cash to participants and spectators.
The National Competition with qualifiers and paid flights and accommodation is put on by World Cyber Games, with the chance to go on and compete at the international level, representing Australia for the chance at $10 000 of dollar at the international championships, along with the right to call yourself the worlds best gamers, and the non-WCG titles which are supported by WCG's partner event, Red Carpet Gaming (shown below), have the chance to qualify for the National Finals as well, however instead of representing Australia at the WCG international finals, they will battle it out to be called Australias best gamers, and for thousands in cash and product. The games supported are below:
Counter-Strike 1.6 5v5 (WCG Title)
StarCraft II 1v1 (WCG Title)
League of Legends 5v5 (WCG Title)
Fifa 11 1v1 (Xbox 360) (WCG Title)
Tekken 6 1v1 (PlayStation 3) (WCG Title)
Counter-Strike:Source 5v5
Call of Duty 4 5v5
Heroes of Newerth 5v5
Team Fortress 2 6v6 (no Nationals, but heaps of prizes)

The EB Expo is Australias largest consumer gaming show, featuring the latest (and upcoming!) products from companies such as Activision-Blizzard, EA Games, Nintendo all the way through to Razer, Sega and Xbox. With 15 000 participants across 10 000 square meters at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC), this is an event you do not want to miss.
National Finalists will compete at the EB Expo at the WCG stall and at the main stage in the EB Arena, in front of crowds of thousands for the right to be crowed, Australia's best gamers. We are planning to around 350 of Australia's top gamers from around the country, with a flights/accommodation/entertainment package valued at $1 500 per person!
Each National Final will consist of at least 16 teams, or more in the case of the 1v1 games. Those who are not flown in, but prove themselves as amongst the best will be invited to be a part of the event.
Prizes are still to be announced, however the prize pool will have thousands in cash and products.
This event will no doubt be the biggest the Australian competitive gaming scene has seen, and will change how World Cyber Games was run under previous companies, so that is will be bigger, better and the best yet.
---------- Last Words ----------
Show your support by getting a team together and heading to one of the qualifiers. It is amazing meeting all the people you game with online and even better when you get a shot at winning some nice prizes. The more teams that attend the qualifier in Sydney on the 25th of this month will help show the event organisers that it is worth while running these events in the other states.
People of all ages can attend, there is no age restrictions. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask and I hope to see you at these events.

hey jackson, if its possible you should throw a post up on TeamLiquid as well.
thanks (whens the next sgl? huh? )
Yeah good idea - I asked someone to do that for me ages ago, cause that site confuses the hell out of me :P but will double check and see where I can put it
EDIT: Made thread - lets see how long it stays at the top
and lol - whenever you want dippa :P It will either be late August, early September, or be part of the "Redbull qualifier" listed on our site (I wanted to keep SGL and WCG separate, but my boss somehow wants 1000 people in the middle of a tent in a field, and somehow I am supposed to get computers for it. Only option is BYO PC = SGL)

Please try to arrive 30 MINUTES EARLY so we can get you registered and the competitions started on time.
Ending times are approximate, it may go on for longer depending on how well you place and how long certain matches take.
I hope that a computerised bracket like challonge is used and constantly updated and people are allowed to proceed through the rounds at their own pace. If you make everyone play a set round at certain times then it will go to 3am. This is because double elimination takes a long time and there is alot of waiting for opponents. Not to mention 1 TvT holding up the entire tournament.
Just pointing this out so it doesn't end up going to 3am like NRG :P
