As a random player myself , my builds are always random and nexus first against Terran is my favourite strategy . I personally believe that naked nexus first is an economic cheese. Today I played against a Terran who went gasless rax build and he sent 3 marines to gain map control so I assume that he was going 1 rax FE . I had 1 canon to scare him off from all in ing mecwith a stim timing tho . Then bam ! marine scv all in. I lost the game partly because I teched to dts. How do you guys scout for a Terran rax all in if he has map control ? Don't tell me nexus first does not work because I have been using this build since season 1
Coming from a fellow nexus first-er, imo you HAVE to take map control + poke up his ramp with first 2 zealot + stalker. And I think cannon isn't really necessary unless he makes ghosts.
SCV train all in has to be micro-ed by the stalker (kiting).
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

it's possible for them to scout your nexus first and throw down 3 barracks instead of the CC that they originally planned. I don't know exactly how you're meant to stop it, I never go nexus first because I still lose to the all in when I 1gate expo.
If you don't actually see the CC go down, you have to keep in mind that there is a possibility for the all in.
I think the answer is just make sure you scout it. Do whatever you need to to get a probe checking out his natural, or get some early units out to poke up his ramp. I would be wary of any gasless Terran who had 3 marines out on the map and no CC placed at his natural
The all in looks like a 1 rax FE, and the point of using it is to catch you out for jumping to conclusions?
As Yang said, that initial probe scout is pretty huge. If you're doing nex first keep that scout alive in a corner of a nearby base (like you would against a zerg) then head back in to test the water at some point, and you don't see gas prepare for a world of pain.
A big thing some people do - which to me is incorrect - is using chrono on warp gate tech. If you're doing nex first you need to 'catch up' on where you would normally be on a military front. Chrono'ing out the first couple of stalkers (or zealots, depending on how you're doing the build) is the best way to do that.
Second "I was teching to DT's". Well you're going to lose to goddamn near anything if you're caught whilst teching to DT's. Nexus first can hold off a lot of marine/scv cheeses with fast stalker tech and good micro but if you're trying anything more then that then you lose. It is a coinflip essentially, and you lost it.
And yes, you have a unit which regens 20 shields and outruns marines. You shouldn't really be losing it and you can most likely scout a not 1 rax fe build with it if you're properly active with it.
Lol its pretty risky to nexus first, I just prefer the safety of a 1 gate expand build and then just pressuring with stalkers really keeps the terran contained and then your safely getting your economy rolling behind this.
You'll be able to hold marine scv all in if u play safe and add more gates fast if you're feeling suspicious.
And yes poke with your 1st zealot stalker but keep in mind you shouldn't lose them. Toss should always control the xelnaga towers against T as they have stalkers so i'm not sure why you gave him complete control.
Nexus first is always risky, but greater risk > reward. If you dont have the multi tasking to macro up while you be really active with your probe, Then try something a little less riskier, Make your gate, and go 20 nex before core, its a good build and allows you to get units on the map quite alot faster..
Im sure if u wanted specific build timings yang would know them off by heart keke

The best person to watch Nex first is Axslav, that kid smashes it up regardless of what his opponent does.
hm... I think I know my mistake now. I keep chrono my warpG tech instead of getting more units. No wonder I keep dying whenever I go nexus first or even 1 gate nexus. Thanks for the tip there =) Will definitely keep that in mind for next time.
