So 2 things happened tonight that have got me pretty happy after a pretty shitty last few days. 1. mGG got our selves a new personal record for number players in the mGG Public chat channel (just search: mGG). Tonight we managed to reach a Whopping 58 people! Ill say that again, FIFTY-EIGHT PEOPLE!
Have to say thats the largest iv ever seen a chat channel on sc2 other then ones used for tournaments (even then not sure if Iv seen any that big). Since interacting with players out side of mGG is really important to us. Focusing not only on our clan but also the wider community, I was really proud to see so many people, more then half of which were not mGG members!
The other Thing that went well or us tonight was the Sudden Death Round of our Bronze Only tournament we are hosting. All the info from the tourney can be found here :
With the write up of the end of the group stages being on page 3.
The sudden death was a Tie breaking between 3 players who all tied beating one another in the Group stage of the tournament.
At first we had some issues with our caster running abit late, then some technical problems on stream with video/sound delays, but none the less the games were really enjoyable, and our first round of the Sudden Death ended in yet another Tie with all 3 players Going 1-1. I wont go into too much more detail about the tourny here cause I will be doing a write up.
But point is in the end we got a really nice stream working, I did some casting of the games, and It ended with an extreamly exciting and close 40 min game between Philospher (protoss) and Braxeo (Zerg). Was a really fun time and really rewarding to see how much the bronze players are getting into the spirit and are enjoying both mGG and the sc2sea Community.
Yeah, over half those people were non mGG members who just like to hang out in the mGG channel as a good place to socialize, meet practice and team game partners and juts have some fun.
Even the smallest donations help keep sc2sea running! All donations go towards helping our site run including our monthly server hosting fees and sc2sea sponsored community tournaments we host. Find out more here.
