Well it's been a long week and I have learnt a lot. My play has become better and I can feel the call of the Gold league yelling at me to come near.

With the Ultra build time decrease coming along with the new patch I decided to go for fast Ultras. My first opponent was a protoss. After 15 min I had 8, +3/+2, Ultras on the field. His ball of Stalkers and Colossi went down in a ball of psionic flames. However with the new found confidence in Ultra, a price must be paid. My beloved fungal growth is now so much less usable. With damage down to 30 rather than 36, Zergling balls in ZvZ can no longer be taken down with a single growth. ZvT isn't hurt that badly as marines still take 2 hits and Fungal in ZvP was never very good anyway.

In my adventures this week I was placed against many gold players and even a Platinum player. I beat most of the golds but I lost convincingly against the Plat. It was a ZvZ and he just applied the pressure until I crumbled in a heap of Bio-goo. But I am still in high spirits because the simple fact that the system put me up against a Plat means that it thinks I at least have a shot at winning. Gold is very close.

With my other mouse a half hours drive away I have been forced to use the worst mouse in existence. This means that if I try and ladder, I will not play as well and when I am this close to Gold I don't want to throw any games. Ill just have to wait to get my old mouse and computer back or buy a new mouse for this computer.
