"Wow man, so long since you have produced your first blog!" - I think to myself
Since last time I posted up my first, for me personally as well as the scene there has been insane amount of change going down with the release of HoTS and also for me with moving on to uni this year.
This year has been the start of my 5 year journey into uni life and so far it has proved to be a whole new experience.
But before that, I have to admit I struggled to adapt to the changes that lay ahead. Finishing high school was both a relief and in some ways a curse. As soon as I was done, I went in to work full time to help save up some funds for the year ahead... But I found my motivation to do things was slowly slipping away. I lacked the same determination to get up and do things as I used to with so much free time on my hands, it was overwhelming to say the least.
So the time finally came round to shake off my larthagism (is that even a word? O.o) it was the start of an entire new journey for me. Starting my career in Planning. Admittedly I was quite nervous going into such an unfamiliar situation. Although by the end of the first week I had no real reason to be they were here for the exact same reason - because of their love of the design of the urban environment!
Man, with the release of Heart of the Swarm - I honestly got such sick nerd chills from such an extended coverage internationally of the launch event. From Australia to Europe to DayNyan to capping it off with North America! I haven't been so excited for just jumping on home, hopping on my laptop to play starcraft since 2011, I felt so much hype and was thoroughly engaged throughout the long anticipated launch (Even felt the compulsion to watch during one of my studios :P) and to see the number of people viewing and spectating at these events, both online and live, was fantastic!
So there has been a bit of a balance of good change and bad change for me over the last couple of months, hopefully though I can pull back that same work ethic from the last two years to face the mountain of assignments ahead of me!
Thanks for reading guys and before I finish up, I will leave you with a question. How do you all respond to change? ^^
Change isnt always a bad thing but approaching change can make me anxious and nervous. Yet sometimes I tell myself that's what I want or need to do so I'm going to find a way to make it happen for me. Can't always run away or avoid it. If I approach with some plan or idea, it usually helps a little.
Good luck with your year(s) ahead and all the best.
