I've never actually written a blog before... but I must say I've been inspired after reading a few of the other user's entries, it's a pretty cool tool Nirvana implemented to the site! I do plan on keeping this updated with entries over the course of Season 3, hopefully to the interest of a few members; but more-so as a way I can view my own progress, issues and accomplishments throughout Season 3.
A little back-story, to give you an idea where I'm coming from; I picked up SCII a while back and from the out-set was hooked, I loved every aspect of the game, from the 1v1 environment to the RTS genre itself; nothing had been quite enthralling as SCII. Prior to SCII I was spending my gaming hours in WoW (cue the jokes).
So, like any over-confident gamer, I opted to skip my practice-league matches and got smacked around 7 ways to Sunday in my placement matches (0-4) and ended up in the muddy-depths of the Bronze league, but my humble beginnings were good, it was a foundation for me to build my skills upon and constantly strive to improve and ended up in Gold by the end of Season 1.
However, I planned on playing very seriously in Season 2, analyzing replays and focusing on areas to improve - I guess you could call it, "focused gaming" however RL commitments came out of (literally) no-where and I didn't even have the time (nor energy) to come onto SC2SEA, let alone sit down, and continue with my goal of 'going hard' in Season 2. A few weeks ago, towards the end of Season 2, my RL commitments had simmered down and I was able to continue with the SCII aspects of my life which I'm actually thankful for (working the equivalent of 2-3 jobs is never fun, haha).
So with the beginning of Season 3, I plan to continue on from where I left off (and unfortunately never had the opportunity to do in Season 2): game, learn, improve, tune into nGenLight's stream (his music alone is worth it!) and accomplish the goals I set out for myself within the Koprulu Sector. If all goes well, I'll be updating this blog weekly; with anything ranging from my list of SCII-orientated goals, to my problems, thoughts regarding SCII and "inner most deepest desires" (haha, only kidding about the last one)!
Thanks for reading! All the best to all players in Season 3!
SC2 is definitely the king of all RTS! Enjoy your season 3 Sky, I plan to take laddering and practice a bit more seriously this season as well. I wish you success.
Except when you bump into me on the ladder as I'm obviously gonna take your ladder points
@System: Definitely man! One of my current goals is to participate in a lot more SC2SEA tournaments, I am a huge fan of the tournament aspect of SCII and do eventually plan (read: once I'm good enough) on flying interstate to attend some of the events!
@Maynarde: Haha, thanks bro! It should be good and I have a strange feeling we'll come up against each-other on ladder this season! You can have my ladder points; as long as you give them back at some stage
@Potthead: Thanks!
@Highlander: Thanks a lot bud Yeah RL commitments can really, really suck - especially when car insurance and registration both hit at the same time and you're looking at over $3,000 for the lot... eep! But all is good now, and I can continue with one of the things I love most!
Thanks to all who have taken the time to read the blog, warms my heart :]
