This site continually insults me, calling me a lurker, so I thought I would do something about it.
Overall I had a great time casting the Rising star tourney with Insano. The brackets went along incredibly smoothly I can't really think of any issues of the top of my head apart from my own casting! It was quite funny going through the vods and hearing how awkward it was at the beginning. Also big thanks to Duckville for casting on the other stream, I really enjoyed nipping over during our breaks to check out the other games. It weirdly always synced up, whenever we were finding a game, Duckville had one.
Eddie really deserves massive props, I felt the new format fitted the comp perfectly. There was a minor wait in-between games and it allowed us to cast a larger proportion of matches than normal. I think the only issue would be tiredness for the lower seeded players, due to ultimately having to play 2 more sets before the higher seeds.
I was extremely excited to see Blysk win. I've known Blysk since I used to play back in 2011 when we were both playing in clan wars for Nerve and SPR. We have really enjoyed having him for ESLTC and he has won quite a few series for us. Ultimately his Blink play and Forcefields were fantastic, being crucial in quite a few of his victories. It reminded me alot of how Grubby plays, especially PvZ which was the only matchup Blysk had all day!
As for a favourite game, it's hard to pick! As I honestly enjoyed the majority of games we casted. In terms of imba builds though this definitely takes the cake from Blysk. I was busy yapping on about this all day and when he finally did it the result turned out exactly as I expected. Probably the only time in the days casting where I was right!
If you have any feedback for myself/the team regarding the casting, set up etc I would love to hear it. Ultimately I hope to be a part of Rising Star for quite some time into the future, so anything to help us improve it from our end would be great.
