Okay, I have been with TPG for 4 years and as of the last 3 months every time I hit peak hours ( 3pm-9pm Daily and Saturdays and Sundays usually the entire day ) I can't watch streams without them constantly lagging, Twitch, Youtube, Others.. ( Wife watches Tenplay and other associated TV crap ) They just pause every 5-10 seconds and it's becoming a joke.
Even watching Youtube and Twitch vids, streaming music, it just retards out.
I have run ping tests, speed tests, done all of the TPG crap they've asked and basically you can see a noticeable difference at the peak times but they are saying it's just normal fluctuations ( rofl yep ) after talking shit at them for 3 days, they refunded my last 3 months and I terminated my account.
Jam packed server and or possibly School Holidays affecting it IMO.
I never had any problems previous though, was always good as gold, which really does suck.
So, who is with who? Anyone have any recommendations? Good prices, reliability, etc etc.
I am in Queanbeyan, NSW ( 1km to Canberra ).
Probably use around 30-50gig a month? Don't download much just basically smash Xbox, PC and watch Streams etc.
I can't get the NBN as yet and no notice on when it will show, if at all.
That's just overloading of the local exchange.. TPG are pretty notorious for it as they're kinda cheap about adding new nodes when they overcrowd. According to some people on whirlpool you can try threatening to get the consumer watchdog involved because the service isn't acceptable half the time, and they may shunt you onto a different node with less congestion (no guarantees about how close that would be to you physically, so it may be more stable but slower because of greater distance).
All ADSL plans can (and sometimes do) have similar problems from time to time.
Internode, I have been with them for 6+ years without a major issue. I realise internode is a part of iinet but their customer service is fantastic. Would recommend.
I am with iinet. I find they constantly DC me and then i come back on a slower (both up and down) connection. I reset the modem and normally that fixes it. Different problem I know, but I have used iinet, telstra and optus and every single one of htem is the same. shit just gets crap during peak periods.
