Well it's official. Melbourne StarCraft is now a thing.

Fortnightly is probably better, for me at least since I can't guarantee availability every month, so at least fortnightly I might miss one week but not have to wait a whole month for the next one and risk missing that too.

Monthly might have more attendance though and could maybe run mini-lan tournaments there and develop our own Dreamhack!

In the end, I'm pretty flexible, if people want monthly that's fine.

I'd vote fortnightly, even though i would probably only make it to every 2nd or 3rd, as i do shift work on a rotating roster, and it's a bit of an effort to make it into the city.

If it was just once a month, for the above reasons, i may well miss it, then it would be even longer until the next one!

I saw a post on reddit this week about a place called Zen gaming lounge in Southbank. I think it just opened. It looks pretty good, no clue about prices though.

yep I've seen Zen Gaming. I'll go check it out and see if it's a decent venue for the future. In the meantime we'll most stick with MC only because a few people (including myself) have purchased a stack of credit.

Also judging by a few comments and likes on our FB page, there may be some nooblet (not from sc2sea community) coming along so would be awesome if people could come along prepared to help out some of these guys and make them feel welcome.

Ultimately, the more people we welcome into the SC2 fold the more awesome SC2 tourney LANS are gonna be when they happen.

everyone ready for the next sesh ?

I'm thinking we put some structure to this thing to keep it interesting.

Can pair up and do co op missions, pair up for practice custom games (if you can find someone your skill level), would be great if one higher ranked player of each race would be able to do the rounds of lower ranked and give advice (maybe shadow a game), then finish off with team games.

Am open to suggestions ?

I'd love to come along to some Melbourne meet ups, is this forum the best way to keep up to date with what's going on or is it just part of a complex web of Communication including like facebook and stuff..?

I look forward to coming to some meet ups soon!

So next meet up is actually next Thursday 30th June.

New venue is Zen Gaming.

I've negotiated that anyone who is part of SC2 Melbourne meet up gets insta free membership (worth $50) and therefore lower membership rates on PC time.

IT'S TIME! Now that everyone's cooled off a little bit following the amazing Summer SC2 Cup (thank you Probe for organising) it's time to get together and chill with another Open Map meet up.

Meet up is scheduled for 5:30 pm on 1st March.

For those unfamiliar, this is an informal Starcraft 2 meetup where players / enthusiasts of all ages and skill level get together and player together. It's up to you as to what you do. Custom games, practice and help one another to improve, focus on particular match ups, have fun with co op, archon mode or team games.
