Welcome to another round of mGG-organised mGG-sc2sea tournament. I know it has been a while (ok a long while)

BUT

we HAVE been discussing about something like this for a while (on skype) and now seems like a good time to have some good competitive fun again ^_^

Being an mGG in house event (but us loving our friends in the sc2sea community as well) means special rules for signing up too

For every mGG member (and honoraries etc) who signs up, minimum of one non-mGG member will be included into the tournament (we might just top up to a good number). As part of some crowd control measures, we might stop at around 32 sign ups in total. (Subject to review depending on response).

Format will be similar to GSL/GPDL etc with group stages for round 1 (round robin) and top 2 from each group to advance into the next round etc. The approximate time line for the different rounds are 1 April to maybe late May / early June. (details when numbers are finalized)

This is open to ALL LEAGUES.

There will be 1-2 participation random prize for those who complete their games/set since round 1. Details again when we know how many players are participating.
If you are keen to contribute to the prize pool, please pm me as well ^_^ The more generous contributors supporting this, the bigger the prize pool. But the main objective here is fun, fun and more competitive fun. Most importantly, the winner will be have the honour and pride of being GMC #3's grand champion.

Updates with regards to the prize pool :

I know peoples been asking what the prize pool is going to be like.

At the moment, thanks to the generosity of MightyKiwi and Pressure as well, we have raised $150 for the prize pool including a steam key from Rezyn. We are still looking at more contributions to raise the prize pool. Will update when more details are confirmed.

On top of this, Eddie has decided that participants may earn OSC points as well according to the following table :

1st 125 OSC points
2nd 80 OSC points
3rd 50 OSC points
4th 25 OSC points
5-8th 10 OSC points each
9-16th 5 OSC points each

Also to qualify for all of this, players must complete their sets and games accordingly.

As part of crowd control measures, I might cut off at 40 participants (with skype details) but put additional signups on a waiting list. Anyone after the 40th person will be on the waiting list (which will be updated in the OP). If anyone pulls out or is non reporting/dodging obviously within the first 5 days, the first in the waiting list to respond will get the spot so that we will preferably have 0 walkovers and a full complete first round (ideally).

That will start round 1 with 8 groups of 5 (round robin). If we hit 40 participants before the sign ups, we might even start a little earlier than 1 April. (I know you guys are ready and eager to get started!)

People having been asking me when will we get started, all geared up and ready to get started. As such I'll be closing the sign ups this friday on 27th March instead and releasing the brackets by 28th March Sat so that we can get started this weekend! Hype!!
