The sc2sea GPD is a 8 player, double elimination tournament.

Format :
All games in the upper brackets BO3.
Lower bracket games are BO1 until semi finals for lower brackets.
Finalists have the option to play 1 set of bo3 or the complete 2 sets of bo3.
(To be agreed before start of finals)
Maps may not be repeated in the same series.

After this season of GPD Opens/Cups, we will be taking a break and restarting afresh in January 2015.

However, there are plans for Funday FFA #3 in December 2014 so be sure to watch out for that! And hype for the holidays in December including Christmas!

Announcement #1

This has always been at the back of my mind, to update the list of Coaches for the Coaching Prize for GPD Opens.
The Call has been more urgent when we saw more Terran winners but a lack of Terran Coaches and then the thread appealing for Terran mentors.

Since then, some have answered the call and has offered their coaching services. Many thanks to them
I know some past GPD open winners leading to the GPD Cup this Sunday has approached me asking for who the coaches are to give them that extra edge in preparation for the GPD Cup #3.

And so I'm taking this opportunity to introduce (and re-introduce) the confirmed coaches :

fray'Alpha
Alpha has been helping quite a few players for a while now. I would like to thank him for his continued support and guidance for the winners.

fray'Flux
Ever helpful but watch his love for puns, Flux stepped up earlier this year. I am sure winners will find him a mentor to turn to especially he is back and active again.

eCKo'Redemption
Studies have been keeping him busy. However, Redemption is still willing to help out any winners. He has good experience coaching s and I'm sure you will find nuggets of wisdom in his coachings.

[AxS] Sparrow
A strong player who had heard the recent requests from the many players. Sparrow has answered the call recently and is willing to share and coach winners. Would like to thank him very much for his willingness to contribute his time and experience.

x5.Juno / /
One of the x5 Academy coaches, Juno too has answered the call recently. He has expressed that he is able to help and coach for all 3 races.


I would like to thank all of them for their support and contributions to the community. Discussions are in the pipeline for a couple more coaches. If you are interested to coach, please pm me and include a bit of background about yourself.

Winners must state which GPD opens they won and pm the coaches directly before each GPD cup (i.e. by the end of each GPD season of 4 GPD opens that leads to the GPD cup). It is hoped that the coaching will give them the extra boost for GPD cup and of course, towards the happy result of getting themselves

Namek is a regular in our GPD Opens. He was offered to be a wildcard in previous GPD Cups but internet woes has prompted him to decline so that others may have the opportunity instead. This time, with the internet fixed, he is ready!

I have tried over and over again to qualify for the GPD Cup but have failed every time, I am so glad that i have chosen to be a wildcard for the Cup and will show that BIG ANDY (me) is worthy of the spot and will take the win.

Chad is no stranger to the site. His busy schedule prevents him from being as regular as he wants to be. Nevertheless, we decided to give him the opportunity to prove himself this GPD Cup.

Hello friends, its about time I graced this tournament known as the GPD Cup! Exciting times for me as I am on holidays and playing much, much more SC2 at the moment.
I plan on tearing my opposition to threads and dare any Zergs to challenge me. There are a few protoss no doubt in the competition, All of which rely on their poorly designed race to win games. Play a real race (Terran/Zerg) and come at me you scrubs. Sadly, if they did this, they would probably not even be in Gold. GL HF Mates
