Havoc Gaming are proud to announce our first season of the team league for the SEA region. Over the next two months six of the biggest South East Asian clans will bring together their GPD forces to compete amongst each other for glory.
The Format!
This tournament will be pro league format with the games being
1. Gold/Platinum
2. Platinum
3. Diamond
4. Open
Ace. Open
Each team will play a five week round robin phase with one game being played a week. Then all six teams will compete in a play offs series which will be played over three weeks.
Map Pool!
With the addition of flashback map pool for the next season the classics will be used for this team league when they're announced.
Pre-Season preview
With week 1 games officially being able to begin tomorrow i thought around about now is the best time to post this 'pre-season preview'.
I thought id highlight a few players to watch coming into the season so here is a bit of a list;
Birry - HvG - - In recent clan wars Birry has been a very solid terran player and has won many games, likely to get multiple appearances for HvG and will improve as the season goes on. Cuddles (Phuzzy) - ETL - - Also been in top form in clan wars lately almost all killing HvG and giving a solid performance at ACL Brisbane considering he is in the GPD ranking. Pokemon - DGTV - - Also part of the team eCKo and hailing from Melbourne Pokemon has been a upcoming terran for quite a while, being in he would be one of the DGTV ace players and would be borderline . For the time he is in during this tournament he should be one of the best competitors. Drinksarlot - DGTV - - A solid player from DGTV who qualified for MSi Beat It Stage 2 and played some good games in the ACL Brisbane open bracket. Should produce a good win loss ratio for the dominion. ZeNo - HvG - - One of the stronger terrans on Havoc Gaming consistently getting multiple kills in team leagues. Should progress to diamond during the season and be one of the ace players. Pressure - mGG - - Recently got 3 kills against 3 of the best players from ETL GPD division and could be a unexpected top performer in this team league. Swarmstika - ETL - - Consistent score in clan wars for Eternal eSports and has been competing in many weekly tournaments in the scene, with committed practise could easily assist Eternal eSports in being one of the top placing teams.
Predicted Ranking At Season End
1. Eternal eSports
2. DGTV
3. AxiS
4. Havoc Gaming
5. mGG
6. SCS
All hail tRoy for this amazing write up. May the other kingdoms of sc2sea fair well in the upcoming six way war. But in saying this i secretly hope the Dominion Empire shall rise above all to where it should be sitting :P

plan is to get as many games casted as possible I'm sure people like Soundwave, Metalcore and more would be happy to jump into some games and cast.
Unfortunately i didnt get a response from ToR but if they would like to compete and we can get another team involved I'm happy to expand the list to 8 teams.
SCS is Starcraft Collegiate Society or something like that and its a bunch of Sydney universities who run bar crafts and social events ran by Elison (The MC from ACL Sydney) They have a massive Facebook page and are getting involved
Pokemon - AxS - - Also part of the team eCKo and hailing from Melbourne Pokemon has been a upcoming terran for quite a while, being in he would be one of the AxS ace players and would be borderline . For the time he is in during this tournament he should be one of the best competitors.
pshh ... ben's ezpz

I'm the president for Sydney Collegiate Starcraft. We're a collegiate group of Sydney tertiary education including USYD, UNSW TAFE etc. We have a fair few masters players such as Livibee, Jayboc, Yours, Juno, Peacekeeper, Vivid etc. We also have a fair few gold, plat and dia players as well .
U dont have to submit the ace until u have to play them. Similar to proleague. The reveal is more fun plus we might have to repeat players for ace. So ace may be someone who has played or not.
If the teams want to reveal the ace as part of the lineup then I guess it is up to them

Apparently this is not the case. See below quote from Ice sent to me on Skype.
Quote:
you can either choose to submit 4 players and choose your ace from one of them
OR
pick 4 players and a seperate Ace hence the 4 players then the ace
Important note.. if you don't reveal the ace, the ace must be from your starting four. If you do reveal the ace the ace must not be from your starting four.
I must have missed that. It doesnt make the most sense but I guess it's their rules?
From the skype chat I am in :
[30/9/2014 10:25:55 AM] Jesse "WoLF" Wheeler: Quick question the ace player does that have to be one of the 4 previously played players or can it be anyone from a teams roster ?
[30/9/2014 3:38:37 PM] Eliz Tung (Nemesis): I think can be anyone?
[30/9/2014 3:46:11 PM] Jamie (Ice) Beresford: i thought so
[30/9/2014 6:11:31 PM] Troy Duxxie (pX): Yeah can be anyone
[30/9/2014 6:11:32 PM] Troy Duxxie (pX): and bo1's
This was the understanding I got from the captains chat. I have been scrolling everywhere but fail to find the quote that Ice has pasted with regards to the ace.
I'm checking the skype chat we are in carefully and unless there is a different skype chat or I totally am blind, I really cannot find that said

Why is that the rule? why can't it just be any player on the roster just like it is in SPL, i mean we are using SPL format correct?

@Chadmann : Thanks. But I'm also checking and find nowhere where it was mentioned as well with regards to listing the ace prior to the games, was what I meant. So I guess it will be good to make it official etc?

I agree. So I guess it is up to the admins to say it officially or reconsider. Even line ups change on the actual day [e.g. players not turning up for known or unknown reasons], and it kinda spoils the surprise for the ace match. It is all for competitive fun and participation afterall.

Thats what i was trying to say to chaddman but well it didnt come across right now reading what i wrote what its meant to say is you can if you want use 4 players and choose an ace from that or choose one who hasnt played i think the confusion came last night we shouldnt of revealed aces in the line ups that was my fault.. What namek says is what it is SPL format so can be anyone from your GPD roster
Oh ok good thats how it should be, an example of this is IM this year in the SPL, Mvp never played a regular match but twice came out for them as ACE player. Hopefully that little example helps explain it lol
