When: Monday 16th of December 5pm start (GMT: +8, Western Australia)(8pm AEST)(7pm Brisbane) [Will be held every monday]

This is the third installment of the BSG HotS Oceanic online tournament being hosted by myself and friends! It will once again take place online on the SEA server with a maximum number of 16 Players. Just as the previous weeks, the tournament will be more focused on lower league players getting the opportunity to test each others skill and learn from their games. As well as being part in a great atmosphere where they can meet other players and meet some training partners.
Any player from any region is legible to enter as long as you have a stable internet connection, and an account on the SEA server.
PRIZE: Guarenteed spot in the next tournament, reputation.
MAP POOL
Derelict Watcher
Polar Night
Whirlwind
Frost
Akilon Wastes
Bel'Shir Vestige
Yeonsu
Before the each game commences both players will be allowed to vote out 2 maps each. All games will be bo3 except for the Grand and semi finals. Semi finals will be bo5 where players can vote out only 1 map. The Grand finale will be bo7 where everymap is played on in a randomized order.
ENTRY
If you are interested and wish to enter please post your league below as well as your character name/tag and race you wish to participate with.
Example:
Hermes.551
Players will be paired with an opponent through a list generator, (randomly).
However, for the first round, Bronze league players will verse each-other, Silver will verse each-other and Gold players will verse each-other.
RULES
No smurfing allowed, we want to make this an enjoyable tournament for the participants.
Games will commence between 5:05pm-5:10pm[Perth] [8:05-8:10]Eastern States of Australia
If you are late, you will be DQ'd. Arrive no later than 5pm [8pm AEST] is my recommendation.
If you are identified as a map hacker, stream cheater, or anything to benefit yourself over another player you will be disqualified.
Bad mouthing will result with a warning, then procede to a DQ if it continues.
"and we'll invest more on Bots, as our first Trial bot, the 'NemBotElie' was a huge success, organising tournaments and being part of the Council of mGG. But there are a few bugs in which the bot cannot go past the skill level of a Platinum Protoss." - PaRAnorMaL
Hmmm, I might be interested in this, but since Blizzard have moved the league boundaries around this season the leagues have become extremely blurry. I was platinum a season or two ago and now I'm in silver, and fighting others who are obviously in the same boat and way too good to be silvers.
On SEA when I looked the other day the numbers look like this:
Literally half of the playerbase is now stuck in bronze, while GM, Master, Diamond and Platinum COMBINED account for less than 9%. We have former diamonds now playing in gold, and former platinums now playing in silver.
It's pretty ridiculous.
Because of this I'm really unsure whether this is going to be a fair tournament for everyone involved. Are those that were diamond last season who now find themselves in gold eligible for this?
@AxS.SouL: They are only in there because Blizzard changed the league boundaries this season, not because they suddenly got worse overnight. The expected relative skill levels of gold and silver now is not what it used to be a season or two ago, it's now much higher, while bronze has just gotten bigger. I'm just concerned that one of those former diamonds who are now in gold is just going to romp home easily for the win.

i regularly come up against 8-10x diamond or plat players in gold.
I think we shouldn't forget the tournament is for some competitive fun. Let's keep it that way.
The new structure Bliz has created, re-thinks the skill level of what is now gold league... something we have to learn to accept as well unless Bliz decides to do something about that very aggro mmr decay feature as well as the % cap.

Thanks I missed that one, but Ive been super busy so not a surprise. Explains a lot of what I have been seeing
@WhitePointer I really do not mind. This is just a fun tournament for the people involved. If there's an ex-plat or -ex diamond, it doesnt matter to me. It brings up new opportunities for players to learn, and have the knowledge on what to expect when they do become better players and enter the higher leagues.
so are you still doing the thing where players start the bo3 using the map highest on the list? cos that just means every game starts on akilon seeing as there are worse maps thats need to be vetoed. Just a thought.

Good thought. I guess players can vote out maps per usual but each player can choose what maps they want to play on.
EG.
I vote out bel'shir and frost. I then proceed to choose a map to play on. Same goes with my opponent, he votes out two maps and chooses a map to play on. Players can decide between each-other what one of their maps they want to play on first. If their is a third game, the loser of the 2nd game decides what map is played on.
Sound good?
errr then which is the starting map again? I'm fine with following the order as listed. But maybe just jumble the order each week is what I think goose is suggesting.

Oh ok! I see now! Well then we'll keep the standard thing. I'll jumble up the maps now.
EDIT: Maps have been jumbled

I can't play this week (unless you are willing to postpone for half an hour or so), train got delayed on the way home from work. Should be good for next week though.
That's assuming I made it in, that is.
EDIT: So how is this tournament supposed to work? I was expecting PM's or emails or friend requests on b.net or something to organise games, but nothing. Does that mean I didn't make it, or does that mean things are just getting delayed a bit? (I'm available to play now, joined the channel, nobody around...)
EDIT2: Bah, the match has already been forfeited. Zod dammit, I posted here as soon as I knew I'd be late. Stupid trains. Thought someone may have checked the forums before marking it down as a forfeit

The games were all organised in the group chat. Which I posted above. Sorry :s
Yeah since I'm new here, wasn't sure of the overall process. I was ready to play at 8:15, but was hanging out in the wrong area so missed it by a mile.
If this is happening again next week, I'll be totally ready for it.
