Arena Internet Cafe, Avant Gaming Series and myself are proud to announce a $5000 StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm tournament held at AVCon 2013 July 12th - 14th at the Adelaide Convention Centre (http://www.avcon.org.au)
AVCon is Adelaide's premier Anime and Video Games Convention. It is a non-for-profit event organised and run by a dedicated group of volunteers, known as Team AVCon. Founded in 2001, the convention has been held annually since 2002, and was initially located at the Adelaide University in the heart of the CBD.
As a result of its continued popularity AVCon moved to the Adelaide Convention Centre in 2009 to allow for a greater number of attendees. AVCon fans responded to the change in location by attending en-mass, with over 6,000 people through the doors over the course of the weekend. The 2009 AVCon was a fantastic start at its new location. Since then numbers have risen to 14,000+ people through the door (AVCon 2011). The larger venue allows AVCon to present its attendees with more of the anime, manga, video games, vendors, cosplay, Japanese popculture, related art and other favourite and new events.
All this comes with one upfront cost at the entrance. Once within AVCon, our attendees are only asked to pay for food, drink and any items they wish to take home. All video games, anime screenings, entry into events (either as a contestant or an audience member) are covered in the entry fee.

Tournament starts Sunday afternoon, and I will cutoff the entry at 12:30 Sydney time (midday Adelaide time) on the Sunday. Bracket will be made and there will be checkin in the channel (channel AGSeries on SEA) during that time, then we'll start.
I will make a new thread later/tomorrow for the separate qualifiers.
People attending, on the Saturday night or Sunday, if there is some random awkward looking dude walking around with a camera in an ecko top asking for photos, that would be me xD
You have been warned

KingKong > Kez Petraeus > BigBird KingKong > Petraeus Kez > BigBird Kez > Petraeus (i believe in kez =D)
KingKong and Kez advance.
Group B
Rossi > Megafonzie Ninja > Poker Rossi > Ninja Poker > Megafonzie Ninja > Poker (i have no idea about the zvz's between these guys, will be super close)
Rossi and Ninja advance
Group C
Iaguz > Edge Satu > Myuu Iaguz > Satu Myuu > Edge Satu > Myuu
Iaguz and Satu to advance. Myuu and Satu is hard to call though.
Group D
This group's going to be an absolute wreck of what everybody expects. I promise that.
I'll give it a crack too, completely non-baised....
Group A
KingkOng > Kez
Petraeus > BigBird
Petraeus > KingkOng
BigBird > Kez (only 'cause 9 pool is shit ZvP)
KingkOng > BigBird
(real)Pet and KK advance
Group B
Rossi > Megafonzie
Ninja > Poker
Rossi > Ninja
Poker > Megafonzie
Ninja > Poker
Rossi & Ninja advance
Group C
iaguz > All of them cause they are all zerg.
Satu > Myuu
EdgE > Myuu
EdgE > Satu
Group D
Petrify > PiG
JazBas > Pezz
JazBas > Petrify
PiG > Pezz
Petrify > PiG
Petrify and Jaz to advance. (Actually I just think this is the group where everyone expects Jaz and PiG, but one of them will be upset by Petrify and Pezz cause they are both capable)..
Alright, I will also post predictions. Don't flip the **** out because fuckin' tgun can't all-kill LG-IM or whatever this time.
Group A has Petraeus and KingKong who are simply put much better than the other two.
KingKong > Kez
Petraeus > BiGbiRd
Petraeus > KingKong
BiGbiRd > Kez
KingKong > BiGbiRd
Group B is pretty well matched. MegaFonzie has really good PvZ, definitely very underrated. HotS hasn't been too kind to Ninja thus far, but I reckon he's good enough to advance.
Rossi > MegaFonzie
Ninja > Poker
Rossi > Ninja
MegaFonzie > Poker
Ninja > MegaFonzie
Group C has iaguz destroying everyone. Satu, EdgE and Myuu have all been off the radar recently. It's honestly a coin flip, it's rather impossible to make a serious prediction. Going with EdgE because it's his last tournament and it would be nice if he went out in style.
iaguz > EdgE
Satu > Myuu
iaguz > Satu
EdgE > Myuu
EdgE > Satu
Group D is an interesting one. Pezz is an absurdly underrated player. PiG is obviously plain better than the other three. We'll see how it goes.
PiG > Petrify
Pezz > JazBas (not too sure, Pezz is supposedly weak against cheese and all-ins and Jaz has some very cheeky ZvP all-ins.)
PiG > Pezz
JazBas > Petrify
Pezz > JazBas
So there you have it m8 depending on how brackets work out anyone could win. iaguz seems the most likely at this point unless he gets Rossi, who I think can beat him in TvT.

Pezz v Iaguz Final. It would love to see no zergs make it due to the abundance we have, will make it a lot more interesting then zvz for 90% of the games.
