This thread is primarily made through community suggestions and feedback regarding the upcoming ACL Brisbane. Questions will be put here once answered.
Post your helpful insights below!
Question: What is the parking situation at the venue?
As you can see above the cost of parking at the venue is steep and cannot be guaranteed availability. Alternate parking available in SecureParking in Tank St at $15 per day. Entry after 5am, exit before 5am next day. More information here. There is also the option of park and rides at various locations outside of the CBD. Check your local areas for more information.
Question: How is open bracket seeding conducted?
Seeding will first be done through Stats Central with remaining players being randomly seeded.
Question: What is the situation regarding complementary passes into SC2?
The first 30 SC2 spectators will receive complimentary entry into the venue. Simply say you are there to spectate SC2 and if there is allocation remaining we will give you a wristband! We will have other wristbands for pro players and their +1.
Question: How do the top 8 open bracket players feed into pool play?
Each player will provide a preference of their pools when making themselves known on the day. This will then be how they will be fed into pools, in order of finishing position, if they make top 8. When a player selects a pool to be put into which has already been exhausted of allocated open bracket spots, the player's next preferred choice placement is given.
The top 2 placing open bracket players have the option of picking either their 1st or 2nd preference. This is to avoid forcing both 1st and 2nd into the same group if they happened to pick it. Seed 3 through 8 MUST go into the first available pool as per their preferences.
At least its somewhat seeded double elimination tournament.. it's equally possible for Rossi to eliminate one of the other top 8 contenders and make it a bit easier for you to get there too. It all comes down to luck of the bracket.

On that's true as well. I had been led to believe it would be opinion based but that does to an extent gaurenteee that whoever you think will be top 8, will end up top 8. So I guess this is the best factual way for them to do it. But with it being double elim you would have to be galactically unlucky to get two really good players in quick succession.
It does make sense I suppose, probably the best they could do with what they have.
Is there only a limited amount of people that can spectate if not competing? I read on their site that it's $5 donation entry... is there a small spectator limit?
This was explained multiple times throughout SC2SEA threads and on the group selection video.

Will Pro players (particular those in groups A and D who need to be at the venue a good 3 to 4 hours before they have a game to play) have access to a PC to practice on? Can it be guaranteed?

Theres a 45min window before group B and D start, it doesnt mention how many PCs are available while B and D are playing (or how many PCs are even in the "Pro Zone"
So i Guess I can ask, how many PCs are available in Prozone? will player in A and D have access to a PC while B and D are being played?

I guess they get 45 mins before games to prac. there are 10 PCs in the pro-zone so I guess there will be 2 PCs available + those not in use because people are on stage matches for the other pro's to prac on.. warm up still better than any past ACL. Chill bros.
EDIT: Rossi - all I mean is, no need to stress out about PCs, players will have access to them as soon as possible, thats all they can really do. It's still better than any past ACL and the earlier start means things are going to finish up heaps quicker! yay.

No Group A and D have a 45 window 3 hours before there games start, theres 10 PCs (according to you) for 16 people to practice on and when the 8 people in B and C start their matches it leaves 2 PCs for the 8 people in A and D to practice on.
I guess what I am asking is do they players in A and D really need to be there at 1pm given these conditions? why not show up just before 4pm?
And yes for future reference guys Having 1 thread thats updated is so much better then a new thread every 2-3 days with a random update

According to the current schedule the set will be at approx 18:15 (6.15pm). Do note these times are subject to change.

Due to how much work is going into bump in today I will check SC2SEA as much as I can today however I will only respond to questions I feel may be hard to find information about.
Please remember you can get everything you need about the event from the ACLPro website landing page here. Please check there before asking questions in here.
Yeh there is far too many threads buried in news/tourneys forums, it's impossible to track. >_<

Haven't seen any detailed information in any threads and I can't watch the video at work (which is pretty much always >_<). So I went ahead and filled it in myself, and from what I can see, you filled in the groups like so?
A > B > C > D > C > D > A > B > D > C > B > A > D > B > C > A
I noticed that if you simply went with A > B > C > D for the whole thing, we would have ended up with some pretty lopsided weightings, (ie. 1316 vs 958) Did you manually shuffle the groups around to compensate?
None of this is criticism, I'm just curious, that's all.
EDIT: Oh and yeah, just as a piece of feedback, I think you would have been better off just merging this thread with the other one and stickying it as in info thread somewhere, rather than creating numerous threads. I mean, it's just answering a few small questions...

Correct in an effort to balance the points distribution amongst groups. Recognizing this is subject to interpretation and perceptions for who should switch between groups I'll be pushing to change the format in future seasons to a GSL style picking system. I, and the team, have lots of changes we want to roll out for Melbourne to trial

I don't have the years of thread posting experience you have .
What I am going to do next time is have a landing page on SC2SEA similar to that of what is on ACLs website on the news section and then any smaller sub threads will be put in respective sub forums and linked back to main. You think that's a good method?
Just shove everything 1 thread, edit it with updates as you go along and bump with every update. It's easier to not have separate pages for everytthing regarding 1 tournament.
Yeah would like to know if we have to turn up before the scheduled time to check in or whatever. Since there isn't a 100% chance of having a pc to warmup on I'd rather practice at a netcafe then turn up for the match if we don't have to checkin in the morning.
Just a heads up that I'm scheduled to get to the venue around 1pm. Fingers crossed no flight delays, couldn't get anything sooner. See you boys and girls down there!
That link above is linked on the ACL home page in a big giant banner Arnor - not sure how you struggled to find it. I know that people will never leave SC2SEA for discussion and forums, that's cool - but I've always been a firm believer (as Dox knows too) that all TOURNAMENT information should be centralised on the site that the tournament is being run by.
That really should be the first point of call for information and that's how it will be in future. By all means, all questions, feedback, forums (as usual) on SC2Sea, but there's much to be changed here for next event.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. We've been busting our humps to put this one on for all gamers involved. CoD going huge with 72 confirmed gamers!! Maybe they should get the main stream next time
Or maybe we can get 80 SC2 gamers down ?? Who knows....

That link doesnt link directly go to the event schedule?
Rather than shooting down people and having multiple staff members say "the information is there go find it" (and even then the information wasnt complete / is vague) itd be far more time efficient to answer the dang question, and post a direct link, heck you're focusing on something that was already resolved (partially anyway) and neglect to answer questions that have been asked after it
It would be nice if this question could be answered (asked by myself and by Fenner)
"Since is seems that players in Group A and D wont have guaranteed access to a PC to warm up, and since check is suppose to occur before 1pm and Group A and D do not start until 4:45pm, is it ok is players in Group A and D come in later (say 4pm) and spend those 3 hours preparing for the competition at home or at a local net cafe"

We request all pro players check-in and register at the same time as open bracket (before 10.15am cutoff) to make our lives easier in administration (pre paid need not worry). What they do after that is up to them be it leaving to practice at a cafe or stay to watch games.
Players in Pool B and D MUST be at the venue to register and/or check-in by 1.30pm no later.
Players in Pool A and C MUST be at the venue to register and/or check-in by 2.30pm no later.
Whats the deal with first 30 sc2 spectators getting bands? Whats all that about? Noose and I will be spectating SC2 and Blacks Ops 2 as we have a team playing in that too.

Whatever is happening on the stream right now needs to NEVEEEEER happen again. If you're that desperate for filler, just play some music or some old footage, anything really. This is just.... ugghhh.
EDIT: @Minimat - Kez/Maynarde were forced to commentate cinematics while Infeza used a voice modifier to make lots of sound effects and stuff. It was cringe-worthy!

Or switch to some footage of the event live, it really creates that vibe and feel of kinda sharing that experience of being at the event through the stream.
This morning during the early periods of setting up, I was enjoying watching the people come and go through the venue until a big banner spanned across the screen O_o
