Hi Sc2sea!

One of my housemates is moving out over the next few weeks and we'll be left with a free bedroom in the house we share. I'm now looking for a new housemate to take the room! We are looking for a friendly, fun housemate who knows how to clean up after their self and is happy to communicate about any issues they have.

We currently are a house of me, Dot and another uni student studying her masters of architecture. I wanted to post this on sc2sea because I would love to find a housemate from the starcraft community! Details about the house:

• Located in Burwood. Couple minutes walk to train station, Westfield and a huge variety of restaurants, grocery and speciality stores on Burwood Road.
• Buses to just about everywhere in Sydney as Burwood is a transport hub.
• Fifteen minute train to the city. Thirty minutes or less by public transport to USYD, UTS and UNSW.
• The room is a single bedroom with timber flooring. The room is big enough to fit a double/queen bed and a desk and wardrobe + storage/shelves.
• Washing machine, fridge and full kitchen amenities including microwave, oven and stove.
• Decent sized living room, backyard and front porch - all for shared use.
• Shared plates, cups, cutlery, frypans etc. all available for use.
• Driveway car-spot
• Internet with iinet, 400gb/month download. ~160ms ping to NA and KR servers, 115-130 to SEA. Very stable.

Rate

• $160/week
• Bills for internet, water and electricity are shared monthly or quarterly. Average $20-25/week total.

Rules

• No Drugs, no smoking in the house.
• Shared cleaning roster, details upon request.
• No downloading/uploading large files until after midnight or upon request.
• Welcome to have people over and use common areas, but for parties or noisy late nights check with the other housemates with a few days’ notice.
• Shared items such as toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, cleaning products etc. will be split evenly and added to rent. If you buy something for common use just give the receipt and it will be deducted from your rent.
• Must commit to 6 months in the house with at least 1 month notice prior to leaving.
• Need proof of stable income (paychecks) and personal reference.

Just a quick question, would you/dot/the other roommate be paying 160 a week as well or will rent be weighted? I'm thinking of disparities as you guys have been there longer/may have different room conditions and such...

It sounds like a pretty good deal for me as I live in the Blue Mountains but study at USyd. I will be considering it!

Sorry not completely sure what you mean by this. The house has 3 large rooms and 1 tiny one. PiG and I also have a tiny room at the back so our rent will be different to whoever rents the single room. All the large rooms are comparable in size.

Sorry I meant like would you pig and the other girl each pay 160 each? Or would I (or the hypothetical tenant) be paying a different amount to what you pay (i.e me 160 you guys 100)? I assume its all equal I am just making sure

Haha unfortunately nothing at the moment! Hoping to get a big gaming convent going at some point in the future though where a whole army of nerds can live together, but still just a dream for the moment :P

you know jared, from talking to you at lots of lans and stuff i wouldn't consider you a nerd, coz ur not awkward to be around, in fact i have found a lot of the Aussie pro-gamers and top gamers are actually awesome to be around! a nerd is defined as a socially awkward person :P i dont even consider you one for a second nor do i consider anyone else nerds who are pro gamers or who are good at games, coz to be good at games, you need a certain amount of intelligence and intelligent people usually speak very well! i have noticed over the past 2 years now, from meeting and speaking to a lot of you at lans(shoutout to Arnor and his awesome CityHunter comps), that you have intelligence and are not nerds in the slightest, its just society called smart people and gamers nerds.

• Located in Burwood. Couple minutes walk to the train station, Westfields, Burwood Plaza and a huge variety of restaurants, grocery and speciality stores on Burwood Road. There's pubs, internet cafes, etc. Really convenient location.
• There are buses to just about everywhere in Sydney as Burwood is a transport hub.
• 15 minute express train to the city. Thirty minutes or less by public transport to USYD, UTS and UNSW.
• The room is a single bedroom with timber flooring. The room is big enough to fit a double/queen bed and a desk and wardrobe + storage/shelves.
• Washing machine, fridge and full kitchen amenities including microwave, oven and stove.
• Decent sized living room, backyard and front porch - all for shared use.
• Shared plates, cups, cutlery, frypans etc. all available for use.
• Internet with iinet, 600gb/month download. ~160ms ping to NA and KR servers, 115-130 to SEA. Very stable normally. We've gotten the upload to 2mbps, download 15mbps.

RULES

• No Drugs, no smoking in the house.
• Shared cleaning roster.
• Downloading/uploading files is done when everyone is sleeping or when you're the only person in the house. This is because we love gaming.
• All housemates are welcome to have people over and use common areas, but for parties or noisy late nights check with the other housemates with a few days’ notice.
• Shared items such as toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, cleaning products etc. will be split evenly and added to rent. If you buy something for common use just give the receipt and it will be deducted from your rent.
