To those getting the language pack issue (including the stuffed up logon UI where none of the buttons have text).
Dingobloo has found a post on the Battle.net forums here, the problem seems to stem from the locale in your My Documents\Starcraft II\Variables.txt file. The locale variables need to be enSG for the SEA client and not something else.

StarCraft II patch 1.5.0 is on the horizon and it’s bringing a number of changes to your StarCraft II Battle.net experience, including an entirely new custom game experience with Arcade, tons of new additions and improvements to the StarCraft II Editor, and streaming downloads to make patching even faster.

Getting the Patch
The patching process for patch 1.5.0 will be a bit different from previous StarCraft II patches, and will occur in two stages. First, to prepare your copy of StarCraft II to ‘migrate’ over to the new streaming version of the client, a small tools patch will need to be downloaded and applied.

Alteast it's better than the BNET forums. To be honest, this is a step in the right direction atleast for Blizzard and obviously thinks like team functions and etc have been promised to come out with HoTS.

It's written perfectly clearly. You can set the Baneling un-burrow to Auto-cast when enemy units walk over them. Previously the Colossus was classified as an air unit, so Banelings wouldn't behave as intended against them. It's fixed now.

You always could. Un-burrow doesn't NECESSARILY mean explode, you generally get a more cost efficient hit if you hit X yourself and time it right while they're still burrowed.

Also, the auto cast unburrows the banes at the first sign of enemies - rather than detonating it in the middle of the marine ball and getting maximum damage.

Not to mention you don't get to choose what you blow up on you could blow up on a bunch of tanks or thors. It's like lurkers compared with hold position lurkers, hold position lurkers could almost always be more effective in the hands of a pro even if not hold positioning them was easier.
the baneling thing is probably a bug to do with colossus being a ground unit that anti air can hit as well
auto unburrow has been around for ever and i used to use it in silver until i would, as dox said, lose so many banes for nothing :P
Im just ammused that they think so little of their customers that they have to write a guide on how to wait for the patch to finish. And publish ahead of time so everyone can have a chance to read and understand its complex implications

One of the best things I saw on the beta was health bar colours above units were matched to the player's actual chosen colour. It's going to finally look less dull spectating with wacky yellow and teal bars all over the place
Where are the terran nerfs? Didnt they see thorzain & naama both terran just won WCS in their respective countries. I'm sure bunker build time will be +5seconds
I hope they cleaned up the way 1.5 looks in the beta - that stuff was uuuugly.

Oh no, you're not kidding... I patched and now it won't start haha ^^;; It says "unable to run, required files missing, please reinstall" yay me! Any suggestions? (besides reinstalling...)
Anyone else feel like the textures (specially on Cloud Kingdom) feel more detailed? That might just be my video settings and gamma defaulting with patch.

tried repair tool and haven't even done anything funky to my files like modding menu screen or unit colours
patcher crashes to desktop every time
have had no issues downloading previous patches and have had no hardware or system software changes since properly downloading last patch.
looks like i may need to quit sc2. guess its on to guild wars 2 :S

Found a work around. if you go into sc2 install folder there will be a file called "sc2-x.x.x.x-1.5.0.22342-enUS-Downloader.exe"
Run that to download the patch. It may give you a bullshit error that it could not connect to tracker but it will download anyway for a bit as long as you don't click okay on the error.
Just keep running it and ignoring the error and you will download it eventually

I found the file, but I can't open it (Mac by the way...). I tried reinstalling and downloading the patch myself, but the Blizzard Updater keeps looping at 1.1.0.16561. Do you know how to solve the infinite loop problem?
Enforce a little patience people, the ENTIRE client is being replaced and I'm positive that with the millions that play SC2, no one at Blizz HQ is twiddling their thumbs over the responses from the patching process.
Also read previous responses and collate constructive information. Give information and let us know when you've come up with a solution (which many have) in this thread. The people that I have seen in chatbox that have had issues basically fixed their problems by waiting and/or restarting the client a few times.
Beat top 100 GM, and lost 157 points for it. Worst day ever.
Saw that (you're in my division) was like WTF I'm not laddering today. The only thing I can think of is since the division has a number of recently demoted from masters people, and now instead of saying 0 my bonus pool is a negative amount. Maybe it deducts negative bonus pool from your next match like some sort of glitch.
I love the change where alliance colour also changes the name plate and other tabs. Yay!
Dunno if i like the new interface, gotta get used to it i guess.
Same with the fog of war... makes the game feel more like a game? i guess haha.

Yea once i disabled my firewall (windows 7) for both private and public networks, the patch was able to download and I made some progress !
*EDIT: once i disabled the firewall the patch software downloaded and patched sc2 properly. I was able to login to SEA server with the patch done at 100% and all my problems are solved!!
I recommend anyone with a very similar problem try disabling firewall for the patch as well!

I meant no offence, but honestly before the patch i dont know bane can be set to autocast.
Took up so much effort to burst them manually...
especially when i hit X by mistake. "GGWP 20 bane bye"

I've disabled firewall + antivirus, I have tried reinstalling the game several times, I have tried a .tfil file which should fix it AND more.
Still nothing
Hmm, i got it 3 in a row and then put my antivirus+firewall in gaming mode and it worked instantly... Nothing to do with any other permissions or windows settings?
Guys I have the same issue, when the new streaming patcher started, it stops with the error message "failed to download information, check your network connection".
I uninstalled my KR/TW sc2 client. Checked blizzard website and did port forwarding for the blizzard downloader for sc2 for my firewalls and routers. Reinstalled my SEA sc2 client 3 times.
Still same issue, feeling like I won't ever be able to play SC2, sad sad sad.......
everything pretty smoot for me so far. I like that it now gives you the number of games played this season and career. so people complaining about not knowing your win/loss ratio will be happy. i like having that back, is cool. I dislike how my text is the same colour of everyone else nows in chats, makes me go cross eyed when i try and read them but ow well. havent tried to play anything yet, but my profile says im diamond which is interesting, cos my league is clearly gold :P. Still nice screenshot xD

Not really. Now you get total games played across all game modes combined, unless you only play 1v1 you're not gonna get your w/l ratio and even if you do only play 1v1 you still have to figure it out yourself instead of having it displayed.

hmmm yeah it does only say games played, didn't realise that was across all modes. that does still suck. Id prefer to have the data back, but i like numbers. I never got why we cared about people who got upset that their numbers weren't as high as they want them to be.

Im with you on this one.... those numbers made it even more competitive for me. Loved em. On a brighter note, my patch worked but have come across alot of bugs.
Chat boxed randomly booting you out, incorrect league symbols, bad UI IMO. I am used to change, and usually go for it but not convinced on this one. Sad face!
wow, I finished the patch,, then played some games, then turn Starcraft 2 off,, but then when I try to turn it back on,,, the launcher gave me aa message that there is an internal error... Does anybody have this kind of problem too ?
seems that my game didn't optimize before it even started to patch. that might be why it broke and forced me to reinstall.
turned firewall off and i see the optimization screen for the first time ever lol. hopefully this works out well on the second run!

yeah so it's been like this for about half an hour now.. -.-
Yea even for my super fast internet it took like 30 mins to 1 hour, it seems to get stuck somewhere, but you should just leave it and check on its progress a while later, the progress seems to jump erratically

My updater was stuck at "updating set up files" but before i closed it, it looked like Jieun's picture too. i.e i started the dl before i went out and when i came back it was stuck at same place. Even tho it reached the playable stage each time i tried to open sc2 it will get stuck at updating set up files.
So i did a crt alt delete > task manager > and closed the blizzard agent updater. this forced it to refresh and when i opened sc2 again the patch starting downloading fine. i waited for the full download (1.32gb) before trying and it worked fine too.

i close via the applications or the processes? because i might go with this method if it doesn't change in the next hour or two.
if anyone gets stuck in the same situation as me, do what nirvana said to do. MAKE sure you end either blizzard launcher (if it stuck on patch server) or starcraft II (if green bar of irritation/death/torture/whatever you want to call it) under PROCESSES tab and click end process. if you do this in "end task" under "applications" it'll just mess it all up for you. i recommend that you be patient, cos this does take a few tries but it does work.
now on to new things and possibly not running into a problem with this patch ever again.

had absolutely 0 issues installing and updating and i really feel like sc2 is much smoother, really enjoying the new patch lol
For what it's worth, my patch was fine. Couldn't log in at first, but that was simply server's not up yet.
Works well, haven't noticed any fps issues (only been trying on max settings so far) and whilst the interface is a bit of a change, it's actually pretty nice.
This was noticed by Rossi, thought it was pretty cool thought it should be added to the thread:

Hurray! There were times where i couldn't justify tabbing to the PF to make one extra SCV per round due to the increased attention it required. Good stuff Blizzard.

ESV has made a conscious decision to keep their maps on the Arcade side due to the extra features like screenshots and patch notes that the Starcraft custom maps do not get access to:
While I understand it and hope at least some of the features could be used on both types of maps, it also kind of sucks having melee maps pop up in Arcade Fun or Not or in the Open Arcade Games list.

I'm having the language pack problem whenever I try to login to my TW/KR client to play. And I can't change the "enSG" thingy. Anyone found any solution to play on their TW/KR client yet?

yeah the relocalizers are pretty bad zzzz i use big foot too so i hope after the CN patch comes out they will actually make the new version of bigfoot sc2 so that it will be a lot more easier for me to change servers
I have been one of the lucky ones by the sounds of it as the patch worked no probs and could play from day 1. However, as of today it has been randomly kicking me out of the game (cant find internet connection)... which isnt the case. Also chat boxes are again closing all the time.... annoying. Just plain annoying. A patch this size that when to beta should have the fundamentals sorted out before release. Sure no patch will be 100% but this is just a joke.
I really pity the people who have had to go through hell and back to get the patch going... if you could.
Yeah so since this patch i can log into na but not sea, i have an open ticket but no response for yet (put it in thursday) anyone else having this issue?
Looks like the issue is that the na client doesnt have the ability to switch to sea (no button bottom left) but the sea client does
not sure if thats the same for the korean ones
