The Top 16 Brackets will only be published tomorrow, most probably earliest by 10pm GMT+8, and latest is midnight tomorrow. The 64 participants will compete in a single-elimination, best-of-three format for the top 16 slots to go to Day 2.
On Day 2, The top 16 players will face off in a 16 player-double elimination bracket, in a best-of-three format. The winner of the lower bracket will have to win two sets of BO3s in order to win the event itself, while the winner's bracket's winner will have to win one set of BO3 to win the top prize of $4000 USD + the sponsored trip to the Asian Continental Finals in China, which is to be held in October.

A 150 strong crowd is here to support the event
Jabito loses his passport and will not be coming down to WCS Singapore
Live photographs updates coming soon from Escapist
Revenant wins his first match 2:0
Double Elimination starts tomorrow at exactly 10am. Players are to report from 9 to 9.30 am.
Games tomorrow will be live streamed by HdPhoenix and sheepy. sheepy plz dont troll me
crAzerk and his gf are so cute, damnit needed a picture!
Also, I'm not sure how the casting is gonna be done tomorrow but there might be big issues as you will be able to hear everything the commentators say. Lets hope Phoenix works out a solution!
Stealth and I were there and I must say, it was an interesting and fun experience watching the games, especially the player's expressions, frustration, happiness, anticipation (will that cheese work?) etc etc.
Gl hf to the top 16 for today

Haha proann I saw u but u were like in the middle of everyone! I said hi to Bryan cos he was like on the outside of the group so I quickly went forward to tap him on the shoulder.
@cyanide I didn't see you! Tho I prob can't recognize u just from a Skype photo lol.
Good luck everyone! Someone beat Rev at least in one game? Heh
Quite disappointed at the stream done by ESL to be honest. The games they are casting are not live, and it's just so disappointing to have results come in before the games are casted, loses so much hype and excitement as someone rooting for specific participants who are currently playing live.
Also heard there were no seats for the venue at the mall, really should've made some for the locals!
Though, on the bright side, I do hear that this is the best LAN tournament hosted in Singapore as of yet, and I have no doubt about that, just hope that it can be presented just as well as it is done locally. Afterall, this is supposed to be a very big international event.
No surprises here as tournament favourite Revenant walks home $4,000 richer! I must say the new Flash boys have improved remarkably after joining Flash. Maybe its thanks to Benji somewhat as they picked up new blood to help them in the xGtl and their joining of the team has invigorated in these players a new sense of purpose which has really driven them to perform, with strong showings in xGTL, the AU gigabyte qualifiers and the Singapore LANs. Also Yekke picks up a much deserved second placing after not even bothering to go to WCG last year and rounding up the rankings Team Protoss takes up the #4-8 spots lol!
All in all I feel the results today are a very accurate representation of the current skill level in Singapore, except for ice of course who is busy training for his 1 million dollar dota2 tournament but would easily be Top 8 at least.
Tournament favourite EnDerr now known as Stellar because he says another pinoy player is called EnDerr too, lost to RedArchon in the WB 0-2. He then made an impressive comeback in the finals, 2-0 and 2-1 to clinch the title. Poor RedArchon said he was so stressed about EnDerr he could not sleep the previously night. Jump is such a boss manager IRL too!
So there will be three players representing SEA in China.

They are probably the best three in SEA atm although it would have been nice to see two spots for Singapore and EveYekke go to China too, since China and Taiwan have like 10 spots and Singapore just one!

Some trivia for this! The top 8 players are the top 8 seeds for the tournament! No major upsets or whatsoever!
