Note: I'm sorry i'm not allowed to advertise this, please move to Blogs if so
Hello everyone! I am Terror Australis / Carnage eSports EdgE, also known as Cam. After writing a blog expressing my interest in coaching and getting some great responses, I've decided to make it official. Coaching will begin most likely after ACL Melbourne (7th-8th of July) but I may do a bit before then to test it out!
I started 'serious' gaming in 2008 with Brood War. I played Protoss intially and switched to Zerg, and have basically been Zerg ever since. I achieved B- in Brood War, border lining on B at times. My specialty was ZvZ, and my favorite player was sAviOr (whom I modeled my thought processes and style after.. only in Starcraft though, I don't endorse his other actions).
In StarCraft 2 I learnt very fast due to my Brood War experience and my ability to learn quickly, so I was quickly flung into the top echelon of players, and have won numerous tournaments across my time in SC2 as well as developed even more of a love for 'eSports' and the awesome community that follow it.
I've been asked many times over my 2~ years of StarCraft 2 about coaching. I've given help to many people who asked on battle.net, skype or on websites such as this one. The response to this has always been great, but I never saw the need to coach as I didn't need the money, or feel my advise was good enough to be worth money along with a terrible sleeping pattern and dislike of making dates added on.
Times have changed though. Money is a more important need, and a recent want to coach has made me really motivated to go through with this. I've always enjoyed helping people improve, and now that my sleep pattern has drastically improved and i've become more organised it feels that everything has fallen into place.
I've also gotten some very nice words from amazing players:
Quote:
MaFia: EdgE was the first person back in the days of sc2 to teach me how to play TvZ properly
Quote:
JazBas: Back when I was really bad(really really bad), I remember you helping me out so much with PvZ, boosting my winrate so much higher after listening to your advice!
I'm really happy to hear your starting to coach! great news for zergs who are looking for coaches!

Rossi: you'd be a sick coach

yang: Never before have I seen such a dashing and handsome individual, you cannot go wrong with Cameron Murrin. You will learn to slay nerds at will, and you will learn to do it in style.
I believe I approach thinking about SC2 in quite an unusual way, which has made it hard for me to fully explain what I mean historically, but upon helping my fellow Carnage team mates in recent months I realized i'm not as abstract as once thought.
I believe I have good range with what I talk about, having dabbled in every style that every race has to offer in all match ups. I'm a firm believer in understanding what you are doing, meaning if I watch a pro replay I want to know the reason why something is done rather than purely copying build order timings.
I envision my coaching sessions will change and adapt as time goes on, but the current plan is that I have word documents ready to make the coaching process easier for both party's involved, as well as up to date replay packs of mine and players that I learn from to aid during and after sessions. Anyone who wants my coaching will answer the coaching details seen below, and the information on that will help me adequatly prepare for your needs.
Personally, I prefer to be asked questions, especially specific ones, rather than guiding a coaching session with minimal interaction. Due to this, I believe voice communication over Skype or Teamspeak and also the student having prepared questions optimal.
I am available most days of the week at the moment (subject to change if job hunting is successful), but I prefer to coach at night and the earliest in a day i'd want to do a session would be midday. In the contact information it states 'times preferred', so when we go back and forth with organizing a time we can figure out what works best for both of us.
Also, here is the format that information in the bookings should be presented:
