Just getting a bit tired of all the players I've been hitting on ladder lately who play as Random trying to call me out for being a maphacker
thought i might make a quick thread to clear something up before one gets made trying to accuse me of doing something which i find to be the worst of crimes in this game.
~~~
Ever since Oz's game against ForGG in the GSL where he opened with a forge expand, i have decided to do forge openings vs random.
I do this for several reasons, The first being that if you are Zerg, i get to play stanard and FFE vs you, and not feel disgusting and play a bad and weak gateway opening vs you that i havnt had to do since the map pool didnt allow FFE's. This way zergs cant get away with 14 hatch vs gateway against me which is lovely
The second reason is that if you roll protoss, i can just attempt to cannon rush you, often to great success as Random players often are taken offguard by cheese, as they feel they have the advantage of anonymidity, and im pretty damn cheeky with my cannons as im sure many of you protoss out there know ^_^
And third, as i mentioned before, it is quite possible to use a forge to defend your fast expand vs Terran at the moment, and it is a lot of fun to try out this new style, even if i feel like im more comfortable doing a Gateway opening vs Terran.
So if you are a Random player on the ladder, and you bump into me, please be assured i do not cheat, and that opening a forge is my standard most of the time lately, no matter what the matchup.
For similar reasons, Maynarde closed the MensA thread and I closed this thread.
These are much more of blog posts guys if you generally wanna make fun forum posts > blogs are the place for it and these two topics would be perfect there. Aka look at MeanySPR and Rossi's latest blogs.
If champi wants this to be like a serious strategy discussion about opening PvR FFE he can rename it to that and I can re-open this. I've talked to him and as far as I know he was just worried people was starting to think he hacked, and wanted to avoid that notion hence this thread preemptively but that can be perfectly accomplished via a blog too.
