Video Streaming Software

Hey guys, I'm just looking for a general consensus as to which form of video streaming software (i.e. xsplit, etc.) is the best.

Currently, I use X-split Broadcaster, and I must admit that it has its flaws. I am looking to change to a better (hopefully free) source of streaming software, but I don't know of any others at this stage. Any help is much appreciated,

Paroxysm.

well i've tried using adobe flash encorer (or whatever destiny uses on that gigantic thing he uploaded about streaming), i found it way too hard and didn't even work in the end. so now i also use xsplit. i find it to be extreemely easy and i think it's just generally pretty good. i'm not too farmiliar with other streaming software, but if i come across any good ones i'll let you know

Xsplit is by far the most commonly used streaming software, as it's very easy to setup and use.

You could try: http://www.quantic-destiny.com/newbi...-to-streaming/
It uses: Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 , VH Screen Capture 2.2.8 & Virtual Audio Cables 4.10.

Xsplit is a broadcaster and dxtory is a video encoder, you use both of them together. As far as broadcasting goes xsplit is easily the industry standard but I'm not a huge fan of their video encoding, if you don't mind spending a bit of extra money and you're planning to do direct capture streaming (as opposed to just capturing your desktop and playing sc2 in fullscreen windowed mode) then I can't recommend dxtory enough.

Dxtory is not a streaming software itself. What it does is it enhances the xSplit. It is a screen-recorder that captures your screen and outputs it as a webcam. What this means is that you can stream in higher quality at smoother rates because instead of xSplit streaming your screen region, it will read it as streaming from a webcam. Dxtory is a great add-on for xSplit, but is a paid software as well, I've used it and i suffer zero lag if I use Dxtory to stream while I play. You can definitely give that one a try.

Xsplit is the most user friendly software to use for streaming if it is only you controlling everything.

Basically, if you are just streaming your games / casting from home, grab XSplit.

I am in the process of learning the ins and outs of Wirecast as it is much more powerful than XSplit, but a tad more indepth

I am thinking, like you System, of getting into casting/streaming on a daily basis, which is partially why I wanted to learn of more diverse streaming software. Let me know how your endeavours go!

Use a combination of xsplit + dxtory works extremely well for me.
Before using dxtory + xsplit i use to just use xsplit by itself, the game was quite laggy and the quality was ok (set on 8),also needed alot of bandwith to ensure ongoing quality.

After i mixed dxtory, i was able to play flawlessly without lag, lower bandwith and also increase my quality.

There was a post on TL about using dxtory with xsplit, not sure where but you should look it up if your interested. Works extremely well imo.

i've also tried adobe encoder, but imo seems less user-friendly then xsplit.

XSplit is a nice all in one package. You have to test your twitch account bandwidth settings in XSplit to remove the lag on the stream - I spent some time on Tuesday fixing this and the stream is much smoother. Make sure you set your location to Singapore instead of the default which is in the US.

I've paid for my copy as it does everything you need.
