After many months of hard work, today we can announce the Xeria Gaming Team League, a team league to take place during June and July this year.

The league features a pretty nice prize pool of $650 cash, over $2000 in Hardware prizes and a Champions Trophy to be won.

The host team of the event, and sporting some very impressive results since the creation of the team including 2 international appearances at Blizzcon and IEM, as well as victory in the Frog Cup

Flash eSports


Singapore's Pride, and the recently expanded roster give this team some depth. Spearheaded by Revenant and Muse, this team are in a very good position to score some upsets over the favourites

StorM


The Taiwan clan that has consistently strong showings in the Taiwan scene participating in their first English event. After victory in TCL3 and a strong 3rd place finish in TCL4 ahead of Xeria Gaming, they are surely a team to be wary of.

Sequential Gaming


Recently expanding their roster gives this team some good options week to week, as well as having some very strong players such as yang and Ninja to lead, this team has potential to perform quite well in the event.

MiTH


The Thailand team, and the dark horse in the event. An in form RedArchon is a very strong player capable of defeating any SEA player, and with quite a few names in their roster, they are capable of putting pressure on some of the tournament favourites.

Wayi Spider


Current champions of the TeSL (The main Taiwan league) and performing very well in the current season, Wayi are one of the best teams in Taiwan. We have seen them defeated in show matches vs SEA teams, but we have not yet seen their complete A team play a Western team.

Mineski


The Phillipines team, with the very strong Enderr spearheading a deep line-up of skilled players. Will Mineski be able to perform against the Taiwan teams and do well in the event?

Gama Bears


The leaders of the current TeSL season over previous champions Wayi Spider, with one of the best Foreign zergs in the world as ace and with some very solid players backing him up, this team is one of the favourites going into the event.

Streaming

All games will be streamed on my stream at www.twitch.tv/benjisc2. Each week beginning June 4th there will be 4 nights of games on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

There will also be Chinese commentary, stream link and casters will be updated at a later date.

Why isn’t X or Y team invited to the event?

Our invites and proposal to sponsors was done back in January and February before a lot of these newer teams were announced. It is unfortunate these teams have not been invited, however we recently were able to accommodate these players and teams by holding an open qualifier for a 9th spot.

For future seasons of xGTL we plan on inviting teams that missed out this time, or having more open qualifier spots.


Flash only recently announced their expanded team, why did they get an invite?

Ace match will only be played if the score is 2-2 after 4 games, and a player can be revived for it.

It does suck that Nv weren't around when the list of teams was originally set up, same for Carnage, fortunately an open bracket is set up for this.

The plan for XGTL was for the 8 original teams to begin with (schedules were made already), at that point in time Nv and cR, and the other new "teams" were not announced yet. Some will point to the skill differential between the newer formed teams and original invited teams and complain of a discrepancy there. But please understand that it is highly unprofessional to un-invite teams.

This brings the league up to 9 teams, with 1 team getting a bye each week. Bash hit the nail on the head. I can vouch for benji in that I know he had planned out the event and the invites before these teams were around. You can't invite EVERYONE. If he invites Invidia he has to invite Carnage and SPR.PG or that's unfair. You're also speaking as if Invidia deserves the invite more than the other teams. There's an open bracket for a reason.

Please also read the FAQs. He explains this. And he also mentions that the teams that didn't get invited this time could be invited in future seasons. I feel like the only reason people are posting narky questions like this is because their looking for a reason to bring out the pitch forks.

I love that Gamma Bears is one of the invited teams! StorM and Spider are so scary too, excellent TW invites, considering TW teams get thousands of viewers on their streams indepedant of TL this is gonna give our SEA scene so much exposure. Just going to touch on the adding teams bit and why adding a 10th team makes it a bit harder.
first off every new team is another week. people have plans there could be teams with plans that we don't know about. 8 teams is 8 weeks and playing constantly week in week out which the higher end of players who probably will for there teams gets tiring as the level of play should be insanely high. 10 weeks with no breaks of constantly preparing as opposed to 9 weeks with a break is huge. also casters 4 games to 5 each night is pretty big too but idk how thats working

I know people are disappointed with there team missing out etc but as stated above by people like light and zepph. At the time of planning some teams weren't around and such. It is very unprofessional to uninvite teams look at what happen to I think infi with being un-invited to some tournament I can't remember right know and how disappointed they were. Benji can't simply univite say 4 teams because of these new teams that came out after the planning had gone into it.

Every single game in this league is being casted too, btw. Currently this means Benji will be casting a match 4 nights a week. Going to 10 teams means that he would be casting this event 5 nights a week. Even benji deserves one night off a week guys.

Look at the positives... look at the amount of teams that have just poped up and are coming soon (iM, x5, Mind Freak, etc..) think how legit and tough the competition will be in xGTL #2?..

Teams that miss sets and is inconsistant will face significant deduction of league points, as well as not being welcome back in future seasons. Managers know the details of this.

I think StorM is something like eve, started as a clan and now getting sponsors. GL everyone in the league.

Yes, every game will be streamed. I haven't sorted out the details for a Chinese cast, I imagine it would only be for games with Taiwan teams in them however
