can u guys help me figure out how to counter early ghost emp? i have like 6 replays of me and same guy, he is diamond i beat him alot before he used this build i have no counter to it the last 4 games was just me getting frustrated (

Spread all your units. Macro effeicently and the ghost push shouldnt kill you. You generally get ahead in the fact they have invest tech into it early that slows down medivacs/vikings so just live thru it by spreading mainly your sentrys you can just macro while hes coming across. You should have more as you have defencive advantage.

I don't need to look at the replays to guess its a 1/2 base ghost timing push and there's probably some macro issues. go through your replay and note down missing probe production/supply depo/spread your units and work out how to do each one better this will make you live through it.

Then theres the what to do vs it battle micro wise. This takes a few games to do the main thing is getting those forcefields out to trap him and guardin shiled AFTER the emp so that you dnt clump cos clump = death from the emp doing a **** load of damage. This will pester you for a few weeks but get the same guy to do it to you 20 times and you'll get good at beating it and repelling it to the point he will prepare it scan to c you spread and pull back.

Then you will have to work on your reaction play to this. The best responce imo is colossus as they havnd teched to a starport at this time as there gas has gone to the ghost academy so a 3 colossus push with 6 gate should then kill him although if your macro/micro is good enough (and his i guess) you can take a 3rd behind it. hope this helps gl hf

I think sound advise like forward pylons, zealot suicide scout, illusion bait, and general forward HT placement will be nothing to you.

General advice - just have more stuff and upgrades. It will beat any terran timing left ad right, even the early ones.

To stop a ghost push, you need a good amount of units and have all your sentries and immortals spread out so they don't all get emp'd at once. Then if he's stupid enough to run in then you slice up his army with the sentries who still have energy left.

If you do notice a terran going ghosts then you need to get colossus out fast. A terran getting ghosts will probably not have a good viking count, and a Terran who tries to fight colossus without vikings is going to have a tough time dealing with the great big pricks.
