Are you a mega-man expert? have you played through a couple of, or all, of the mega-man games on the snes, all the way to the end? Do you know your way around most of the secrets of the game?
Then you are needed for assistance in the next TA retro rumble!
What's the deal with this retro rumble?
This Saturday if all goes to plan we will be having the next series of the retro rumble, and we're going to be playing mega-man, but here's the thing, this time, we're going in blind. Literally none of us (unless someone is a lying, deceiving, son of a bitch) have played any mega-man game before in our lives, which should make for a hilarious race (with max time of 4 hours because we're unlikely to finish a game we've never played in 1 night with drinking involved).
So why do we need you?
Because we've never played the game, we don't know anything about how we're going to set this challenge out, so basically we need someone who can give us:
The best SNES mega-man to play for the challenge
Some drinking rules (use the previous retro rumble drinking rules as a guideline, however remember we'll be much, much more terrible at this than we were at DKC & SMW)
Someone to be the 'ask miles' of this challenge (ie: someone who can help a player if they get stuck/dont know wtf to do, at the price of a drink)
What's in it for you?
E-fame and the details to the elusive TA teamspeak where all the coolest people of Australia (literally, all of them, and not just TA, if you try to name your top 15 players in Australia, it's likely 10+ of them are regulars here) hang out on a daily basis.
So, if you think you fit the mould, please shoot me a PM ASAP and give me your skype/msn details so we can chat - cheers.
Haha, I wish. I'm terribad at Mega Man games. And I've only ever played the new ones, (9&10).
Well, I've got Mega Man Zero on my DS, but I suck at that as well.
I know my way around mega man X 100% and mostly X2 and X3, all of which are fairly epic and yes that include the special street fighter moves included in X and X2 (not sure about X3 sadly)
Might shoot you through an email later, will see if there is someone else who has played the originals or more
Wait there was more than one Megaman X on SNES? How did I not know this? Megaman X was the first game I ever saved my measly $1 pocket money and did every job around the house I could find for extra money to afford. Took me 3 months, but damn was it worth it to 8 year old me!
That would actually be awesome flamga, hit me up asap!
You have no idea how much it sucks to not be able to get on the forums >.< and find out this so sorry i didnt get back to you in time guys, hope you all had an awesome night

Too easy mate, I might be able to late next saturday, as im playing at Arena in adelaide , but otherwise my char code is there so give me a yell in game or I can just email you my skype addy?
Finished Megaman X many many times, loved how you could find the hidden weapon upgrades. It was also funner cause unlike the other megamans you had a dash button instead of having to down + jump, and could wall jump.
I'd love to be the Megaman X pro for y'all, but I'm not available Sat night
1. Drink when you die (this'll happen alot)
2. Everyone else has to finish their drink when an opposing player finds a secret power up station. (These are mostly hidden, some aren't but are a HUGE advantage when found).
3. Everyone else must drink when a player kills a boss / finishes a level (the intro level doesn't count).
Because each boss gives you a certain weapon when you kill it you can pick the order yourself. Killing Armoured Armadillo for instance will give you a new attack which counters and seriously damages another boss which I won't say in the thread unless asked to lol. You need to figure out yourself which level to select next based on the element / style of the attack (fire melts ice, etc etc).
Looking forward to this, it'll be an entertaining retro rumble installment for sure. Will need to check the vods or watch late though T_T

Drink when you die o.O do you want them to be alive when they start fighting the last boss o.O lol. Like the rules they sound awesome.
Maybe also include beating a boss without its required weakness everyone else finishes their drink? Aside from the first boss you play as you obviously beat that one without its weakness :P (and thats no easy feat trust me )
Cheers for the input maynarde, will definitely take your drinking rules into account, and i think we'll run with megaman X, and hopefully i can get onto flamga to be the helper on the night!
