Assuming that I have lots, and lots of money to spare.
What would you guys like to see the money getting channeled into?
-Multiple SEASL + SEACL tournaments? (Both)
-Channeling into multiple SEASL or SEACL? (Individual)
-1 big tournament you have a chance to qualify for with pro invites held over 2 days?
-Channeling it to CO, and make it last for as long as it can or to increase the prize money so we get listed on TL tournament streams.
-Help bail Gus out.
-Keep it all to myself.
Please pick several options in the poll above, or post your suggestions below.
e.g with $1000 we could hold 1 season of SEASL (1.5 omnths) + 1 season of SEACL (1.5 months) or have our COs be topped up to $100 and listed on TL for 3 months or attract some cool pro invites to play in our tournaments but that just lasts 1-2 days
Disclaimer: Absolutely no promises will be made, but your opinion would matter a lot.

Both SEASL AND SEACL tournaments have been the most fun to be a part of and watch. SEASL combines the open bracket style of a CO but also lets you watch a lot of higher quality play at the end of it. SEACL lets you get behind your favourite teams in exciting GSTL format and really creates a team atmosphere.
I don't have that much fun in CO tournaments and the increased prizes would just mean a few more top players in it. It doesn't always have coverage and while it's nice for a small community event I think I'd prefer a revival of the SEASL for a major competitive tournament that we can watch or play in, while keeping the CO as the closer community event it is.
EDIT: If you are worried about a lack of competition in a clanleague (seeing as nGen is gone, so only 3 of the big 4 remain) there's always the option of a clanwar based king of the hill competition. If you can't think of something creative you could always just use IPL Team Arena's format

I agree with deL. I don't see much need to inject lots of money into something like the CO. It's a fun tournament for what it is, and a good way for up and coming players to prove themselves. But with Bo1 most of the way through, I would hate to see a large prize pool. It's still a great way for lower players to get some games against top players though, and I love it for that.
If money is coming into the scene, it needs to go to the top players. If other people are like me (and a lot of the people on this site I have spoken to agree) then they would really like to see SEA eSports to grow. To do this, our players need to be more competitive in the international scene. So our top players need to be able to make enough money to play more SC2 and get better.
So yes, I voted for more SEASL/SEACL style events.
Its funny, I was talking with the other guys on TS last night and we had a brief discussion about how the clans have been going pretty quiet. The consensus was that if there was more SEACL for eg, then the SEA clan scene wouldnt be dropping off so much.
I like clans/teams going against eachother rather than just individuals. It builds rivalries and gives the opportunities for individuals to shine by putting big wins on the board for their team
ps. Lol'd at 'bail Gus out'.

My question to you Baka is what do you want to happen with your money? Are you trying to build the scene? If so in what way?
I answered under the assumption that his first sentence explained this. The way he asks it seems like it's "give the community what it wants". It's a good choice because it's going to have some impact on growing the local 'scene' anyway.

Like most of you I too would love to see the return of SEASLs & SEACLs tournaments, its personally the favourite tournaments of mine and the closet thing to a continual GSL type of tournament SEA has. I believe with just a $500 budget we can run one of them which will last slightly under a month, like the GSL. So with $1,000 we could run two events that will keep the whole of SEA watching over the next two months.
Problem as always comes back to the sponsors, its really hard for us to get funding because we lack the connections and this is something we need to work on. If we knew the right people and how to present attractively to sponsors i believe we will be running ALOT bigger tournaemnts with higher payouts. I mean imagine Masters Cup / CO on a bigger scale/budget would be sooo sick.
If anyone has the network to sponsors or knows people who are interested in helping fund this please send me / baka a PM and we will do our best to bring back the SEASL/SEACLs and make this happen, but till them we need your help!

Maybe we shld try a Community Donation + Sponsor drive for the SEACL? 1000 Bucks shldnt too hard.

Need a proper sponsor, we might pass one round with donations (basically the first SEASL and SEACL was donated purely out of goodwill by a Singaporean guy called Mr Ray) but in the long run we need a sponsor and as you said 1,000 bucks might not be that hard!
Even the smallest donations help keep sc2sea running! All donations go towards helping our site run including our monthly server hosting fees and sc2sea sponsored community tournaments we host. Find out more here.
